This happens to all intelligent beings, it's not uncommon as far as I know. To say that you are psychic is quite a leap, to prove it you would have to intentionally predict something.

It's because you're giving yourself too much time to think. The more thoughts you have floating around your mind the more likely this is to happen.

So what I am saying is if your mind is not focusing on anything, such as a video game or a television program, your mind tends to wander. When your mind wanders random thoughts pop into your head, and it just so happens that a thought about tacos popped into your mind when your step father suggested tacos. Now if you frequently have nothing to do, and your mind is allowed to wander, then there is an increased chance that one of your random thoughts will correlate with something that is about to happen.

Its not really like that tho. I will have one thought in my mind (tacos or whatever) and will be deciding whether or not to mention it. This happens with more than just tacos and sometimes has some weird results.. (little 3 year old kids saying stuff I was thinking of)
How often you think of tacos and your stepfather does NOT make suggestion to go eat them?
And again, what you think and 3 year old thinking would most likely be linked to same thing.
If you both see red balloon, you think "red balloon" and 3 year old who still does not know how to keep his mouth shut will scream "red balloon!"
Everyone is warhero, genius and millionaire in Internet, so don't be surprised that I'm not impressed.
Please elaborate. My good ideas keep getting stolen!!
Well then why don't you do my Lord a favor and predict how successful his invasion of Earth will be.
All Hail Lord Feloric
Occasionally I seem to be able to predict what people are going to say during conversations, but usually it's quite obvious anyway, so I don't consider it psychic ability.
Well i was thinking about a chuck norris joke and i turned to my friend and out of nowhere he says 'yeah chuck norris', i was like wtf how the hell did you do that?.
Be very, very careful Slurricane.
I once innocently started a thread on this site questioning whether or not if some of my experiences were meta-physical too. I simply wanted to know if anyone else had any similar experiences and maybe discuss the whole thing. Well, the trolling and abuse got so bad that I actually quit my membership on this site and deleted all of my old posts out of anger and frustration. You would think that this was an open minded and intelligent forum that's willing to debate and discuss all matters.
But be warned...This Is Not The Case!
With that being said. Unlike several of the troglodytes that have responded to you so far, I can actually answer your question.
From your OP, it sounds like you might be experiencing an empathic (not psychic) phenomenon. Yes there are coincidences and this accounts for much of what happens. But a very few people do have the ability to see and hear things that are entirely invisible to every one else and the mechanism behind this is called empathy. I'm not talking about the garden variety empathy where one feels bad if they see a puppy dog die. I'm referring to a kind of "super power" empathy where you can hear the thoughts of other people, know what they are going to do and even know things about them that they don't know.
If this is what you're experiencing it can be a very powerful ally to have but if it's uncontrolled, it can also be a dreadful master that ruins large portions of your life.
The author Rose Rosetree writes an excellent book called "Empowered by Empathy" that will explain a lot. You can also do a Google search for "emotional oneness" and "intellectual shapshifting".
PM me if you have any questions.
Good luck and for Gods sake keep your mouth shut about this topic on these forums!

Someone has been reading too much Harry Potter. There is not a secret group of people with magical powers, please do not impress your nonsense into the impressionable OP.
I experience the same thing. It is perfectly natural that if your mind is turning towards something, someone elses is as well, especially if they are family or close to you. when You share the same genetic make up, or have lived with them for a long time, this thing is inevitable.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

And just for the record, I find close-minded, intellectual arrogance like your post to be nonsense.
Besides. I didn't say he was empathic.
I said, "it sounds like he may be experiencing...If this is the case..."
I suggest you go to Dictionary.com and look up the word 'qualify'.
Hint: It has something to do with setting limits to a statement by listing exceptions like all of the underlined words above.
Perhaps once you've mastered the meaning of this word, you can then add to this debate.
Strange that you would think of this explanation first before a whole host of perfectly plausible explanations for this 'occurrence.'
