It may be possible... but not practical, and would take a huge amount of time with the current tools... also the possibility or errors and corruption is super high considering it has to all be done by hand.

Please let me understand what you are saying on this thread. One cannot edit the campaign map due to various stability issues: Correct?
I ask because I would like to work on making many of the larger rivers on the camp map navigable. And your post seems to state that this is never going to happen...with the tools currently available: Yes?

Yeah, we know how to do it by hand, we just need a tool like the one CA used now.

I don't know how to do it by hand.
Anyways, the map is a big 3dsmax model so I guess that should be used. Most of the rest of the map (trees, entities, etc.) was probably done by hand according to Lusted.

To the regions? It would take a long ass time, but yes. To the map itself? Not until we get a model converter, which we do in fact, know how to do.

How about "just" changing the camera view and the main texture?
PS: My idea is turning the campaign map to a top down (no fov) "real" 2D map/ chart instead of the 3D toy model
