Default Regiment Officer - Model Replacement?

I may just be picky because I was in the military myself, but is there any way to replace that ridiculous looking officer in the infantry regiments? I mean seriously... wtf is with that hunch-back look? He doesn't look determined... he looks like he's handicapped!

Company officers do not march hunched over with their sword at "Carry". They don't march hunched over at all!

A modder who can fix that is a GOD...

    determined enough?

but seriously, i think it can be done by configuring animations. cut and paste style. see enarions post from that thread http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=247789 . i might be entirely wrong of course...

You know I doubt even the modern guys who are trained to parade horses would pull that stunt off!!!

That would have to do with the animations because you can change the officer but when he has that sword ready to go, he will still hunch over.

The naval officer animation (see horse picture) could work, but they litterally look like they are on the deck of a ship, not on a battle field, I don't think that's the look you want

    Officer.

Why exactly, do they move up and down through the ground? Yes the Slightly Godlike pose as if reality is just not good enough for them!

Your talking about the naval officer right? Um...I haven't tried putting that personality on land unit, but I know at sea they just stand there for the most part, take out a telescope or point to something.

As for the hunching officer. Maybe it as something to do when reacting to artiliery? I'm not sure, never really observed them.

I would also like to change the officer for my new regiment.

I can see that simply changing the type of officer in the unit_ stats_land from euro_officer1 to euro_officer2 will work. However I also want to re-texture this euro_officer2.

It seemed logical to give it my units name so I changed it to Gardes_Francaises_officer in the unit_stats_land and then placed what I thought would be the relevant files in warscape_ animated and warscape animated_lod etc, but no luck.

Unless officers behave differently it should work any one done this already.

And just to blow off a little steam, what a rigmarole to edit a few textures and some text.

    Really need help here.

I need to create a new re-textured officer for my unit.

So I want to use as a template Euro_officer2.

There is no problem changing the type of officer to a vanilla Euro_officer2 and this will work in game however if I want to re-texture this officer type it would seem obvious to me that I need to rename the officer to be specific to that unit and then give it a unique texture.

logic would dictate that I then need to point my renamed officer type to the files necessary for this, I assume they would be in warscape_ animated_ load , warscape_ animated and textures.

So I make sure I have the re-textured diffuse file in my mod and in warscape_ animated_ load and , warscape_ animated instructions pointing towards these new textures.

Wont work the game crashes when loading a battle, I presume someone must have already re-textured a new officer for their new unit so any help out there?

    HHmmm

That Idea of the Naval officer would be great to apply to a General.

Make him more like a Dragoon.

    Dismount.

Stand at the crest of a hill.. and he pulls out a telescope to survey the scene!!

Fantastic... Will see if I can do something ASAP

    Great one Pup.

Sounds like a good idea, although I don't think they have an animation to sit on a horse, hence that screenshot where they are standing on the saddle.

They have to have an animation for sitting on a horse, there are officers for the artillery units, and they're sitting on horses.
