This battle needs a lot of balancing, I can already see that. O.o
Anyways, great work on thinking about that, but I must remind you that Minas Tirith is needed for this battle.![]()

Good things come to those who wait... But better things come to those who never hesitate.
How do you get the nazgul unit in? I dont have it in custom battles (mordor).
You have to edit the EDU.. search the entry of the unit and delete "no_custom"
can someone tell me how can I create historical battles like this one?I've heard of the battle editor but I don't find it!
Thanks (and +rep for the one who can answer me properly) !![]()
Well...
Some feedback...
There were few Mumakill at Pellenor fields and many regular easterlings. There were no soldiers from Rhūn and also Gondor reinforcements arrived about halfway through the battle. That would mean you need Gondor two times.
Sounds great but it will kill my FPS![]()

You might want to check out the Gondor and Rohan forces, I think they'll get destroyed...especially when those mumakil crash through the already engaged lines of troops. It would be better if you had another Gondorian force, like the soldiers from Dol Amroth lead by Prince Imrahil
very nice, looking foward to playing it.
but i think you need to modifie a few things:
the harad army: it should be mainly normal haradrim cavarly with a unit or two of serpent guard + one unit of Mumakil.
also, you may want to decrease the number of trolls used by Mordor. or maybe the should have no trolls at all? anyway, if you could somehow add another gondorian army led by aragorn and the Grey company that would be pretty cool
i am pretty sure that Rhun did participatd in the battle muffer
edit: sorry, harad should have one cavarly unit: the serpent guard, the rest ofd the army would be normal Harad infantry + a mumakil unit. what was i thinking?

i think there was only one unit of olog-hai that was used to break the interior defences.
also, you might want to make the rohirrim more experienced because (in the movies anyways), they quickly routed the orc army

Is this going to be movie based or book based?
If movie based the rosters look fine so far.

This one will be fun

I hope this helps :
from lotr wiki
Good: 10,000-15,000 Gondorians, 6,000 Rohirrim, later reinforced by 3000 warriors from the Army of the Dead under Aragorn's command (about 8,000 reinforcements from Southern Gondor in the book).
Evil: About 320,000 (200,000+ Orcs, 18,000 Haradrim (including 6,000 cavalry), all Nine Nazgūl, 102,000+ Easterlings; 700-800 Trolls, unknown size of Wargs, and 25 Mūmakil
This would mean there were around 350.000 men fighting in that battle. Dividing all the numbers listed above by 35 you would get a total of 10.000 men. IMHO that would be a good number, otherwise ppl with a little older PC wouldnt be able to run such a huge battle.
So the forces would be (ingame) 300 gondorians, 200 rohirrim, 150 reiforcements for gondor. 5750 orcs, 380 haradrim foot soldiers, 200 haradrim cavalry, 9 nazgul, 3000 easterlings, 25 trolls, some wargs and some mumakil.
Now can you imagine how 650 good men are supposed to defeat 9330 evil men and orcs + 25 trolls, wargs and mumakil? I mean it's pretty much hopeless. Before the mod was out i tried to create the battle of pelennor fields using vanilla units. I think i managed to do it once playing as "rohan", but there werent mumakil nor trolls. And the evil forces were expecting a reinforcement of many thousands corsairs.
Somehow they still managed to defeat the evil force (without the undead "cheating" the battle as shown in the movies). So, after all this my question is: Will you maintain the original numbers in this battle, or will you modify them to make it easier to win the battle? I would prefer the first option, but after all it's up to you.
EDIT: By modify the numbers i mean the ratio, i obviously dont expect you to have 320000 men in the battle![]()

The issue with the overwhelming numbers and the undead reinforcements could mayhaps be solved with some sort of time-limit? The good forces need to hold their ground for a set time, if that time is reached, they win. Also the bad guys reinforcements/other armies should perhaps come at different times, although that might be difficult to implement in an actual battle.
