    Default About Silvan Elf general

    ok first of im sorry if this wasent posted at the right place feel free to guide me if i posted this in the rong erea.

    To move on with my question,is it posible to make the Silvan General not his unit but the single general himself look like the Silvan heavy swordsman??

    i really like the silvan heavy archer spearman and swordsmen and i yes i think the shield and sword the general has are nice but i prefer a single 2 handed elven blade liek the sindar archers have.

    the idea is to make my general exacly like a silvan heavyswordsman basecly.. ive looked in the mod work shop but so far all the info i found was irrelivent.
    So i figured id ask around incase a pro moder is lurkign and wouled not mind to help me.

    this is purly for my own enjoyment of this amazing mod and im a picky person and the General curently bugs me so i wanted to change his looks if posible thanks

    I would agree it would be nice, but some feature would have to be added so he looked *a little* different, perhaps a different colour on his cloak? (Although they should all have green cloaks imo)

    you red my mind... wich is why have u notticed sindar archers.. have blue capes... silvan heavy swordsmen have green cape?? wich is why i want to make him look exacly liek a silvan heavy swordsmen

    it shoulent be to hard to do if u know how.. sicne the models and texture are allready made... but i have no clue how to do it i red a tutorial that ditn quite make sence to me and i fubared my game while trying but i had backed up every file i messed with so its no big deal but i hope some 1 comes foward to hlep or jsut does it and sends us the files modified that wouled be cool too

    Alright, I think I know how to get it
    go to Sega/Medieval 2 Total War/mods/third age/data EDU
    Find the Silvan Bodyguard unit and change it to this

    haldir's cloak was red in the movie

    i really want to know how to just replace the textures and models i got the model to work but the texturs on it look kinda wierd cause icant find the right texture to replace... otherwise it wouled be easy but then ithink it replaces both Elven generals not just silvan so i dunno hopfulyl some 1 can figure it out


    ok so i was abled to find out what files needed to be replacec bu chicking the unit DB file i think this files lets uchange weapons ect but i ditn want otchange nothign i ntherei ncase it wouled fubar my game if your familiar with it i wouled like to make my general a bowman + 2 handed sword like his bodyguards but i dont know if i need to convirt the file first b4 moding it.. or what .. also if some 1 is familiar with the Unit DB file and knows how to modifie it please let me know ive looked up tutorials but the way it was explained confused me even more.

    so for now al i did was replace the textures and 3d model files them selves and it works but it also modifies the High elf general... if its posible i wouled liek to modifie only silvan but tellign the unit DB to use certain files for only this unit and not the high elvs.

    Fishrudder when u read this let me know ill check the forums later

    It will effect the general himself, not the bodyguard, give me a minute, I'll make it so it doesn't change anything

    thank you very much good sir you just made my night ispent al lafternoon and evenign trying to do this lol

    i have yet to try it in game im curretly makign the changes ill keep u posted to see if it worked

    The first one, He will have the stats of a normal heavy Swordsmen, this one, he has general's bodyguard stats, unless I'm horribly mistaken

    ohh dude dont worrie im jsut happy and appriciate your help in the first place.

    and now it dosent crash to desktop while loading the main menu but it crashes to desktop jsut b4 a battle
