LOL at that swastika picture.
"Romans not only easily conquered those who fought by cutting, but mocked them too. For the cut, even delivered with force, frequently does not kill, when the vital parts are protected by equipment and bone. On the contrary, a point brought to bear is fatal at two inches; for it is necessary that whatever vital parts it penetrates, it is immersed. Next, when a cut is delivered, the right arm and flank are exposed. However, the point is delivered with the cover of the body and wounds the enemy before he sees it."
- Flavius Vegetius Renatus (in Epitoma Rei Militari, ca. 390)
I always knew he was a Nazi![]()
Know where you're going in life . . . you may already be there!
I remember watching those pictures yesterday and before the newsreaders had caught on I kept laughing at the Swatstikas.
What was also hilarious yesterday was how Brown was going on about Parents given more influence over their schools.... and just outside where he was giving the conference, a bunch of them were protesting about their school being shut. Kinda the definition if irony there.
Thing that's scary is doesn't he realise that by smiling like that he just alienates people? It's so... disturbing just watching him force it in the middle of a speech.

Give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of the day.

I see your Gordon Brown and raise you with an (now ex)-PM trying to look relaxed and in synch with "the people."
And LOL at those Gordon Brown pictures. Is he actually a bit dumb or does he just have a very poor sense of PR and bad spindoctors and media consultants?
Under the stern but loving patronage of Nihil.
his name was gordon..

I don't know, I remember watching Gordon Brown speaking on TV back in 1999 when he was still Chancellor, and he seemed like an upstanding fellow back then.
Guess his mental health really slipped, eh?
Too be fair, I have seen far worse in some politicians.
Gordon means well, but he's working from the position as head of the most corrupt, inept, unapologetically useless and self righteous party of parasitical clowns Britain has seen in a long time.
harriet harman, ed balls, jacqui smith... sweet jebus give me a sniper rifle.

"What are the odds of a perfectly square bit of black dirt anyway?"
I think what's strange is when he was Chancellor, he was the sort've down to earth, straight, miserable bloke that simply ran the treasury. We all knew he wanted to be PM though. Thing is, when he does get to PM, that image of "miserable bloke" has to go, so you see him ever increasingly force smiles. Considering that's in direct contrast to the Brown 10 years ago, it just comes across as obvious and alienating more than anything else.I don't know, I remember watching Gordon Brown speaking on TV back in 1999 when he was still Chancellor, and he seemed like an upstanding fellow back then.

I like Gordon Brown, he has many things to his credit which lesser PM's would have struggled to accomplish - but do his detractors take these things into consideration? No, they're too busy  over their own omnipotent take on contemporary issues.
If Brown hadn't acted, every saver with Northern Rock would have lost everything. The Tories can twitter on about how bad a decision the bailouts where, but the opposition benches are on the easy side of the house.
Sure, the guy has the charisma of drooping Cactus; but Cacti are a pretty bloody good at surviving in harsh conditions! Face it, the UK needs a dour, tedious bloke at the top right now, someone who has to actually work instead of relying on some vacant charm to see things through. But I guess the bulk of British voters are too pedestrian to appreciate someone boring; no, he has to make these clumsy attempts at being modern, because people believe the hype and not the reality.

What are those things exactly?I like Gordon Brown, he has many things to his credit which lesser PM's would have struggled to accomplish - but do his detractors take these things into consideration?
Even the Tories would've ended up nationalising NR. The Lib Dems would've nationalised the lot. The goverment simply had no choice. If Brown hadn't acted, every saver with Northern Rock would have lost everything. That's rather speculative, I'd rather keep things in the realms of what actually happened.
Look, the guy is working his ass off, he brought the leaders of the developed world to London to try and hammer something out; his model of dealing with the recession was applied successfully to the US. People like to take potshots at whoever's incharge, but I defy anyone to come up with some magic-wand solution that he could have used instead.
It's very important. What he does only matters if it's something another politician wouldn't do. Otherwise, why vote for him? That's rather speculative, I'd rather keep things in the realms of what actually happened.
Which is why he has plenty of time to post stuff on Youtube eh? Besides, if I were PM, i'd be busting my balls for the job. Doesn't mean i'd be any good at it does it?Look, the guy is working his ass off,
And all that did was pump money into the IMF. What a triumph eh? A conference of some sort would've been held anyway.he brought the leaders of the developed world to London to try and hammer something out;
Last time I checked the US was still in recession. I wouldn't call that "successfully".his model of dealing with the recession was applied successfully to the US
There isn't a single magic-wand solution. Time is the solution. What Brown is doing is storing problems for the future with massive goverment debts. He's making it worse, not better.but I defy anyone to come up with some magic-wand solution that he could have used instead.
Frankly, I don't give a toss that Brown's a miserable so-&-so. If he had policies that made sense and I agreed with, i'd vote for him. Right now though, I disagree with pretty much everything he's doing!

Hey mongrel surely this voluntary introduction of ID cards is merely a precursor to their compulsory enforcement?
