"Unexpected Error Occured"

Has anyone else been getting this error while playing? Like... right before your turn your game crashes?

All it says is...

"An unexpected error occured and Third Age - Total War must now close."

ok can you post a screenshot of it? and what were you doing prior to the crash?

Can you remind me of the screenshot procedure?

it just happened again..... it has happened like 5 times today... and it says Medieval II not Third age....

Prior Crash - and it has been like this EVERY SINGLE TIME -

I end my turn..... and then it goes through everyone.... then stops on rebels... then crashes right before returning to the Silvan Elves - my faction.

this is an all known (i call it) bug, that even appears in vanilla
from time to time. this is often caused by some custom variations
on the campaign map.

if you look at the exact point of the crash after pressing the
end turn button it is always the same faction where the crash
happens.

in your case there is a conflict with the rebels. when i get this
error, i reload an earlier savegame (2 to 4 turns) and this mostly
solves the problem.
(because in this case the rebel-action that creates the error
is doing a different action.)
(but i only got this error maybe 4 times in two years of M2TW)

give it a try and let us know if it works. i hope you have a
earlier savegame.

Anybody heard of the log? Apart from that message a lot of times there is hint to what happened. Mind you , not always. Simply search the log for other entries with [error] in the line.

I have the same problem, my High Elves Campaign crashes pretty often now. I think it has to do with my various changes to the data folder.

Being a good modder you have certainly a made back up of the files you changed so you can easily restore them? You would be amazed what the wrong placement of a komma in the EDB can cause.
