I just installed IBSAI and I ran the launcher, but it said exactly this:

"The procedure * could not be located in the DLL mss32.dll."

(I don't know what the star means, and if possible please explain with which program I might open the file)

I searched this up, and it is not a problem of not having the dll, I think it might be because the mss (Miles Sound System) is outdated compared to the mod, but I have NO IDEA how to fix it.

Please explain this as if you're talking to a 2 year old because I'm terrible with modding.

Oh nevermind fixed it AND another problem and again later it told me 'failed to initialise 3d audio'; fixed that AS WELL seems I am destined to never play this mod

Now it tells me it cannot read 'data/descr_strategy_lighting.txt' which is supposed to be in the file:

[...]\Activision\Rome - Total War\SAI\data

..But it's not. made a complete search in my computer and I'm guessing it's one of two things: either I missed it somehow, or it needs to be added to the mod itself..

Again nevermind fixed it aswell now I have another problem, it says:

Generic Error:
could not find aerial map 'settlement_roman_level_1' in database

Does this mean it is corrupt or can it still be fixed?

I am using Gamefront and Moddb. When I try to download from Rapidshare it says 'Error File Not Found'. I've turned off all my anti virus settings and all that but still, the download cuts out before completion.

Situation resolved itself. I used a different web browser (Firefox) and picked a different download window from Mod DB (Download the file in 5 minutes.). I have got to say it certainly has improved, I've only encountered one DLC so far after a battle but that is out of approximately 30-50 turns so I am very very pleased! Thank you kindly!

In the event that you'd meant to see the descr_sm_factions.txt of the vanilla Rome, here you go.

For some reason, there is a gap between line 17 and line 18 causing the error. My original file doesn't show this so I don't know how yours happened. Anyway, simply open the file and delete the space between lines 17 and 18, then save and close. It should fix the problem.

It's not fixed the problem. Is there anything else it could be?

Edit: Turns out I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. It fixed the problem, I just wasn't launching it with Barbarian Invasion afterwards! All's well now.

Even if I try to remove RS2 graphic mod, game still crash.

I'm assuming that you have installed SAI correctly into a vanilla RTW folder. If so, then try deleting your map.rwm file and restart your campaign. You will find the file base folder, destination path: SAI\data\world\maps\base.

Hi, first of all, thank you for this mod. I'm currently playing Julianus as Caesar in Gaul campaign, and it's one of the most immersive mods I've ever played. Also I've experienced really few CTDs and most of them were battles involving many troops, so it is actually a pleasant experience to play SAI, taking in mind it's a heavily scripted mod.

On topic, I'm getting this CTD when I try to fight this particular army of the Iazyges:



Altough in this moment this CTD isn't game-breaking, I believe it may be related to some of the units. I've battled against some other iazyges armies, none of which gave me a CTD.

Also, I found some skin issue regarding a quady cavalry unit (I don't remember its name) but since I couldn't take a screenshot (I was playing on fullscreen mode) I can't show you it right now. If I find it again, I'll deliver.

EDIT: Got another CTD against a different iazyge 4 unit army, which, among other, had also a "milites romani" unit, but with a different portrait, could this unit be causing this trouble?

2ND edit: disregard the first edit, I was able to fight against a iazyge stack of sarmatian armored archers, bosphoran infantry, alan cavalry and milites romani (with the funny hats). Still, I get constant Ctds fighting against iazyges. (They have taken Pannonia and Dalmatia, and by Sol Invcitus, I won't let that offense go unpunished!)


Should I mention that CTD happens during the battle loading screen?

On a side note, I found a Constantius Flavius from ERE which is 109 years old! At first I found that oddly funny, but reading through this thread I took into account of the 'evil twins" issue. is this some sort of related?

To be honest, this issue has never been really fixed. Not sure whether it is because of faulty sprites, models, or the fact that so many battles can be fought in such a short time. If any body else has found a solution, then please post.
