    Icon7 Stars

Looks like a VERY noobish question, what's more, it's been my second year with SS mod and third year with TW series. I simply never ran across an explanation. A fundamental thing I've got no clue about. It's general's "command stars". What do they stand for? What do they affect? All I know is that "command" and "troop morale" is NOT the same.
    Thanx

It affects morale, and some say it affects how quickly your units obey you.

If it DOES affect morale, why some traits give following effect, e.g. " +1 command, +2 Troop morale" ?? It doesn't seem to be the same after that

Because command doesnt only affect troop morale. If affects other things as well.

As I understand it all troop units have a set amount of morale, depending on where they were recruited and what veteran status they are. This moral level will rise under a general with more command stars or moral traits when you go into battle. Generals with higher cmd stars will also have a positive affect on nearby units in the actual battle as well.

I'd like to know as well, in fact I was about to start my own thread for that, I also like to have a run down of the other attributes.
    -Stars ?
-chivalry/dread increase/decrease own/enemy troops moral respectively is there any other effect?
-loyalty makes the general less susceptible to bribe, any other effect (decrease corruption)?
    -Authority ?
-Piety helps with settlement management(true?) as well as surviving inquisitions in the catholic world. any other effect?

Pretty sure higher authority affects the likely hood of generals rebelling... Although I've never had one rebel.

I've heard the same too, low loyalty can result in commanders rebelling but the chance is related to authority. I've never seen a commander go rebel but I've read about it in an AAR.

Chivalry give +bonus to population growth for commanders in cities/castles, I think +0.5 for every 2 Chivalry. Apparently dread gives a bonus to law. In my games Chivalry for govenors is the best and easy to get, just stick the tax rate to very low (or just low, whatever it is) and over a few turns you start to get chivalry. Dread from tax rate is trickier, you need to have the tax rate set to very high and have the city happieness below "happy".

I've heard authority assists with forgein relations.

If you play with BGR , in "centralized command" phase, sending a non WC general commanding an army with low loyalty away from the capital is a certain way for him to rebel.

I've written a script that causes commanders with loyalty 3 or below to lose command, troop moral and administration skills. Without it loyalty doesn't seem to do much at all.

Just accept that it is advisable to have a good general in a big campaign where you'll be fighting against bigger odds.

You'll find that armies do not regularly rout, if at all, with a high-star general, but can quickly do so if you don't have one. Thus, Stars = morale.
Not too sure about chivalry/dread, etc, but I've heard they play a role in city management.

Troops with a high star general hit harder/defend better also.
You ask for steak, I bring you fish. You say that you think steak is better than fish. I say that fish is much more popular than steak so obviously it's better. You say that no matter how good the fish is it can't be better at being steak than the actual steak we used to serve. I say that's just your perception and you're entitled to it but you should accept that fish is the future and that's good. You begin to say something but I stab you in the eye with a fork and run into the kitchen.

I heard that was the case in Rome:TW but they removed it for M2:TW.

Partly to stop Jedi commanders. I remember playing M:TW where if you faced a 10 star general with a no star commander, just the enemy generals bodyguard by itself will destroy your whole army.
