no we are not racist in fact in the early we babtized blacks but we stopped because people called us slave lovers.

ABOUT people saying that Joseph Smith started a war he didnt. the mormons were chased our by the baptist and were barbarically killed and slaughtered because of his own faith. how can that be right? it was another crusade attempt to wipe out a group of people who went against the church.

if a new religion pops out and i dont like it im not going to take up arms and kill them..

Hi mate, I have a few questions.
- Isn't it self-conceited that the priests of the Mormon Church are recognized as "Latter Day Saints"? A man can only become a saint after his death.
- If the Mormons recognize revelations extraneous to the Bible, how can they tell apart which source is the word of God and which is not, besides "um, the church leaders said it"?
- How can't you see that the golden plates Joseph Smith were a hoax, the book of Mormon is full of ridiculously unimaginable stories made up by Joseph Smith, an ordinary swindler?

for question one: thats the catholic version of saints you can be a saint and still be alive.
for question two:the bible was translated by Joseph Smith so it is correct. (we are encouraged to read both and see the diffrences)

for question three: i cant prove to you thats not a hoax but the angels visited him and told him to write down a 3rd of the gold plates which he did, if you dont believe this than fine.

I'm guessing you are refering to the Revelation quote. If so, that really only applies to the book of Revelation itself, not the whole Bible (which did not exist when Revelation was written, of course).

I'm not a Mormon (I'm Christian), but I seem to recall a few Mormons on these boards in the past. Not much gets discussed amid the religion bashing by the atheists, though.

Well, I really don't know what I'm talking about, but from what I've heard, Mormons believe that Native Americans are some sort of lost tribe of Israel. That's about all I know.
