    Default massacre in Turkey

About 20 people are killed when a group armed with bombs and automatic weapons attacked a wedding party in a village near the town of Mardin, Cihan news agency said.

It was not immediately clear who carried out the attack. Several people were reported to have been wounded.
Government troops have been fighting Kurdish rebels in the area.

Edit.Death toll rises to 41 according to media

According to latest news 41 killed and 20 wounded from an attack during a weeding celebration

First evidences show that heavy weapons were used and evidences show that it may not be terrorist attack

An extra info, there are many tribal families living centuries in this region. There are also old fueds between these families.

Avalanche's comment sounds more reasonable IMO.

i will correct myself it seems there was a clash between families, although the place were the event took place and the high death toll might be misleading.I cant imagine what the hell happened there.40 dead at least in a dispute between families?wtf?

not really. This seems to be a case of family feud gone wrong. aided and abetted by the paramilitaries the government had created in order to fight the Kurdish rebels.

    source: Yahoo news

Citing Ozen, NTV said the motive could be an old feud between rival groups of pro-government village guards who fight alongside Turkish troops against Kurdish rebels in the region. If that is the case, the government would come under renewed pressure to rein in the militiamen, some of whom have been linked to drug smuggling and other crimes.

    .
    .
Interior Minister Besir Atalay said 45 people were killed and six were wounded, and ruled out involvement of Kurdish rebels.

I don't think the they were aided by the paramilitaries they were the first ones to respond to the incident.

No we didn't. We gave YOU intelligence and helped YOU coordinate air strikes against them.

We gave equipment the the KRG which is at war with the PKK and seeking close ties to Turkey.
