    Icon5 Install question

Where it says unmodified version, I have made some minor tweaks myself, made macedonian Cavalry available to the Greek Cities (not changed the UI card though), removed the hidden resource for 1st Cohorts and put in the law and happiness bonuses for academies and walls that BI has. Will that be a problem? Also do I need to unpack the files?

I don't think that that will effect XGM.

There is no need to unpack the files, just run the installer.

I don't know what path to use for the installer. I have RTW installed in a partition drive which is drive D. Putting in D:\ (which is the "start In" from the exe properties) and the install button does not highlight so I can't continue to install, any help please?

Hmmm... so you have downloaded XGM. Just run the installer and put it in the RTW folder.

Or am I wrong and is that not the problem at all?

Not the problem, I don't seem to actually have a Rome Folder as such, I installed RTW to drive D:\ which is a partition of my hard drive, the contents of ROME gold are in there, in separate folders, BI, Data, Custom, preferences etc so I guess in a sense D:\ is the Rome folder. It has created a pointer in start/all Programs/Total War/Rome-Total War-Gold Edition but there is not such folder showing on my C:\ drive. This is in XP by the way. RTW and BI work perfectly.

So RTW is directly installed into the D disk? Not in a Activision or The Creative Assembly Folder?

If so, you better reinstall everything in a folder and then run the XGM installer.

I dont think you will have to delete the registry. Just use confiiguration ==> software to delete it. You get an option to delete your saved games : choose no, as you want to keep them.

By that do you mean use the uninstall option through the start menu?

Yes, XGM is, atleast in my opinion, more fun with Command.

ok, install was good after minor hiccup, that bit where is says you don't have the correct version, the solution was easy; make sure the destination directory included Rome Total war at the end.

Up and running, loaded up Greek Cities and OMFG
