Can someone please explain this to me? It was one of the only maths things I didnt get.
Just a quick guide will do.
Thanks.

Not sure how deep and explanation you want. I have just started it.
Afaik, it is the use of ratios to find out the lengths of sides of right-angled triangles. If you know an angle and a side, you apply the ratio (Sin, Cos or Tan depending on the position) to the angle and voila.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.
A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."
Trigonometry involves learning how to use the trigonometric functions: sine (sin), cosine (cos), tangent (tan), cosecant (csc), secant (sec), cotangent (cot). They have a variety of analytic relationships to one another, the trigonometric identities, which normally must be memorized. Their applications to geometry are extensive and fundamental: they permit you to easily perform many calculations that would otherwise be difficult or impossible. Solid knowledge of trigonometry is essential for further studies in mathematics, physics, engineering, certain types of programming/computer science, and a variety of related subjects.
But trig is usually taught in year-long, or at least semester-long, courses. It's not really practical for us to just explain it all to you in a thread. You have to get a textbook and go through the problems. If you have difficulty with a specific problem, you could ask that here and get help. (It might be best to scan the problem, especially if it involves diagrams.)
Ok, thanks. Ill look it up.
Hey there's no need - Simetrical is the encylopaedia of all knowledge.
But yeah, your original question was lacking in context. Do you mean its something you're stuck on right now, or that trigonometry is just 'something you've always wondered about'?

Something I never got, I thought it might be useful to know.
Well first of all its trigonometry so thats a good place to start.![]()
