Thread: [Tutorial] Traits and Ancillaries List and How to Edit Into Characters!

Is there really no way to add these traits and ancillaries to generals directly in the savegame? I wanted to make a comedically incompetent general like I used to in the older games but this one seems to have taken that awesome feature out for some reason.

It is really simple to add traits and ancillaries to your generals. You need an ESF Editor and then just edit the specific general/minister 's TRAITS or ANCILLARIES.

I'll go into detail some time later if you reply back.

It would be great if you post a guide on adding and removing of traits cause there is none complete around(by complete I mean editing general's stats to reflect the effect of the trait,I still can't find how to change movement points)

    Like I said...

    1) Get esf editor and open the target startpos.

    2) Expand

    startpos\campaign_startpos\campaign_env\campaign_model\world\faction_array\faction_array\faction\character_array\character_array\character\character_details

    3) To change/add/remove a trait, add a trait under TRAITS

    4) To change/add/remove an ancillary, add an ancillary under agentancillary

    5) Now this is key. If you have a added a trait that affects MANAGEMENT
then you must go to agentattributes.

    6) On the 5th agentattributes change the number to whatever you need to. By default, a minister has 2 (3 stars) and so if the minister has the honest attribute, then this int value is 3 (4 stars).

    Star System:
-1 is no star in that attribute
    0 is 1 star
    1 is 2 star
    etc.

    List of agentattributes:
    command_land
    command_sea
    duelling_pistols
    duelling_swords
    management
    subterfuge
    research
    zeal
    land_defense
    land_siege_engineering
    morale_land
    morale_sea
    movement_points_land
    trade

    Hope this helps...

Yhanks but I will rephrase my question - do I need to change any other parametres except agent basic(command for generals/admirals,managment) if i add a trait(for example general_brave gives morale_bonus - should I change morale_land in agentattributes)?
