Esteemed colleagues, spammers and ladies. I would like to nominate Яome kb8 for Phalera.

Rome kb8 first came to attention many eons ago in a favourite haunt of mine called the Political Mudpit. He was to be found in the muddiest threads, battling against ignorance and nationalism wherever he found them. Always ToS compliant, i admired him for his patience and continuous deconstructions of other members' posts. I kept on watching from afar, as he repeatedley rebuffed my efforts to befriend him, perhaps seeing my advances as some sort of sexual threat and framing my approaches as "a trap", much like Admiral Ackbar.

After assuring him i was no threat actual credible medical threat to him, we manage to strike up an online friendship which ultimately led to me offering him patronisation due to his incredible contributions to the D & D. As an example of his standing then please see this application thread.

Since then, his standing has only risen. He constantly approaches debate in a manner which exudes maturity and balance, a rarity for someone so young and attractive. Rome kb8 is a prolific poster, so many of his greatest posts are lost due to them being unaccessible because of space (his oldest posts go back to March 31st). Every page on his previous posts list from pages 1 to 50 contains exemplary posts. I highly recommend my fellow citizens to read some of them.

Rome kb8 represents what D & D participators should aim for: Logic, incision, patience, ToS, and admitting when you are wrong. I Heinz Guderian nominate Яome kb8 for the Phalera Medal.

P.S. Rum is a conservative and i am a green party member. He is right of centre and i am left. I am so left that i even sit on the left hand side of my mate's beat up VW Beetle painted in rainbow colours. Even when i'm driving. I share few of his political beliefs but goddamnit i respect them!

Rome has had his moments but is a major contributer to the site. Altogether, he has done a majorly good job, wether it be through debating, posting in general or his spell as a Junior Moderator. As to this, I reluctant to say, I support.

My support is obviously not needed for this proposal to move to a vote, but I wish to on record as a strong and enthusiastic supporter. His contributions to support debate should also include his work in Garb's Fight Club.

I'm going to be the devil's advocate and post my caveats, along with my laudation. I think Rome can sometimes get way too personal in debates, and use various, not always reasonable methods to "win" them, meanwhile not all his arguments are convincing enough / backed up by facts or sources. But then again, other Phaleras do this too, and the Phalera medal is not awarded for doctoral disserations. Rome is a very active poster in the D&D forums and has made several, probably thousands of good posts there. This solely qualifies him as a medalist. I especially like his bon mots, which are very refreshing in political debates, that people are taking sometimes way too seriously (including myself). Making a witticism can be just as good for making your point as posting long, but boring comments. In a witticism you have to sum up all your arguments and concentrate them in an intelligent, humorous and spirited comment. I also like his conciliatory attitude in debates where members are hastily "taking sides", and use these sides as trenches to shoot at each other. I have experienced this attitude not once, not twice, but several times. Rome is one of the best debaters of the forum. Let's also mention his role as the manager of Garb's Fight Club. He (&Senno) revived that forum and made sure to keep the debates civil. I think the above-mentioned achievements can be considered as "significant contributions inside the CC sections", thus qualify him for the award. Support.

I reluctantly support, given Rome's recent track record in the D&D, but balancing that out with all of his contributions in general.

Rome is an exceptional debater who has clearly exceeded any quantitative and qualitative definition of a 'significant' contribution to CC related secs. A decent guy too. He is a dying breed who must be cherished, similar to that of a mother holding her new born child to her bosom, tenderly caressing it's hair while whispering stories of yore...err, I mean, I support.
