Default Game CTD when clicking "Grand Campaign"

    Hey guys,

Sorry if this thread came up elsewhere, but I only saw one issue like this, but it was slightly different.

I've never used a single mod in my game, and Grand Campaigns used to work. Now, for some reason, since the patch, clicking "Grand Campaign" crashes me straight to desktop. The American campaign works fine for some reason.

Like I said, I've never used a mod yet in this game, and I haven't messed around with any files in the folders. I even clicked "Verify integrity of game cache" in Steam like I read in another post, but this didn't do anything.

All of my drivers and Windows are currently updated. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I found that when clicking on "start a new campaign" it wasnt letting me....It just CTD'd on me.

By accident (would like to have said i worked it out hehehe ) I alltered the battle length in a game I had saved to 1 hour..not 2 hour's duration time. Heho I can now start new campaign's again.

Yup this works!! I also load a save ROI, turned off battle timer and voila, I can now start a new Grand Campaign again. Really weird since I could use 2hours battle timer in ROI.

I'm back to happy again but still need my flickering UI fixed!!!

Wow man. I have no idea how or why turning off the battle timer worked, but it sure did. Thanks Don!

Yeah, glad to hear I'm enjoying game atm. AI is pretty aggressive and tough tho. I'm busy defending my regions rather than capturing new ones LOL.

But regarding this issue I think I found out why it crashed. When you start a new grand campaign and goes to game option/ battle timer, it gives you choices for 20min, 40min and 60min. So some ppl. incl. me while playing ROI or another campaign set up the timer to 120min in game options during that campaign. Now when you start a new grand campaign it takes that setting of 120min battle limit and so could be in conflict with the battle option of a new campaign. Does that sound logical? hahaha. Anyway turning battle timer to 1h or disable it fix it. Later on you can turn that timer back on to 2h if you'd like to.

Edit: Thanks actually should go to Chilled Out Will!!!!
