CTD when pressing 'Grand Campign'

I recently downloaded Imperial Splendour, tried it out everything worked fine. I usually don't play with mods so I uninstalled it and replaced the startpos file with the one I backed up. Now the game loads fine but when I press Grand Campaign I get a CTD. Everything but that works. I got it through steam if that helps at all.

(Sorry if there is already a thread like this - I looked and didn't find one though)

In the games tab of steam right click the game go to properties/local files/verify integrity of game cache.

see if that helps

Tried it, no luck. I also re-installed it which didn't work either.

Could someone tell me the files that mods usually change so I can delete them and do a file check?

Hi KRYPTEN, i already had ur issue. listen, that happens if u have the WRONG startpos ( file of main campaign folder) or in case of this folder being empty, happens a lot too in proper empire mod,

Already replaced that...has to be something else.

Could this have something to do with the patch?

I have the same problem, except I've never used mods. I hope there's an answer for this, because the game is unplayable.

I found that when clicking on "start a new campaign" it wasnt letting me....It just CTD'd on me.

By accident (would like to have said i worked it out hehehe ) I alltered the battle length in a game I had saved to 1 hour..not 2 hour's duration time. Heho I can now start new campaign's again.

Great, now I also CTD when clicking on Grand Campaign!!! Before patch it didn't and after patching I played ROI again which was ok. Now I wanted to start my a Grand Campaign and just found out that it also CTD. Great stuff, I'm totally pissed now!

Edit: not pissed anymore! This can be solved as Chilled out Will has suggested above by reducing battle timer to 1hour or completely turning it off as I did.

How do you change the battle time without having a saved game?

(I had them but I deleted them thinking that might have been the problem)

Try to play ROI any Episode. If it's possible, change battle timer there save the game and try to start a grand campaign. Hope it works!!

Edit: It worked, I just tried. So it really has something to do with the 2h battle limit. I changed it back to 2hours "just for fun" and it CTD when clicking on grand campaign. Hehe funny.
