Blood Meridian
I recently picked up a book by cormac mcarthy which I must say is the only thing I have ever read in which I found myself disturbed.
the violence is appalling, the scenery is amazing and the language is absolutely apocalyptic.
so few authors capture essence the way he has captured the essence of the animal nature of human existence.
I reccommend this book to anyone, but I warn you there is no justice there is no resolution, this is a book of life on the mexican border in the 1850s based on the true relations of scalp hunters called the clanton gang; the protagonist is a nameless thug who is called "the kid" through out the book.
It is full of racism, butchery and despoilment

I enjoy Cormac McCarthy. Brilliant author. You should pick up 'The Road' if you haven't already. I have been meaning to read more of his books, just haven't gotten around to it.

That was also a very good book. After reading the book, I only appreciated the movie even more. The book is a little bit more detailed, naturally.

'The Road' is an absolutely amazing book. Depressing as
, but brilliantly written.

The Road is by far one of the best books I have read recently.
