    Default CTD with Vista on steam

    My game has this nasty habit of crashing whenever I click on a army in the campaign map when I am british (haven't tried any others), I know it isn't my comp, it more then meets the system requirements and has no problem running anyother programs, is there a fix or do I need to redownload it (would like to avoid doing so)

    edit:turns out it happens with others (tried with holy roman empire)

    Hm, well maybe there was a problem during installation. Have you modified any files?

    The original is full of bugs. Have you installed the patches?

    steam automatically installs the patches, though for some reason I think they are named differently from retail.

    Steam does update Empire automatically.

    In the options screen, what number is in the top-right corner?
