Does anyone else just love the vastness and mysteriousness of space? It's just amazing and I enjoy thinking about what's out there. Not just aliens, but black holes, ginormous stars, exploding stars, etc.

You mean the entirety of the universe itself is awesome? I can't really argue with that.
Yeah, it is really awesome.
I love watching it.
Bah, I like the Ocean more then Space. We know more about the moon then we do about the Ocean!Although pictures of galaxies etc, are breathtaking.

It's easier to see the moons surface because it's not covered in water.
oo, pretty . lol. Yeah, I love space.
I'd go as far as to say that space is ace.
If we focused outward on space travel, rather than on internal human wars, if we focused on the outside of this world, than the inside pettiness, we'd be much happier.

Man, yeah I agree with the OP...that's one of the reasons I love 2001: A Space Odyssey!

Of course it's awesome. Where else can you have Space Olympics?
indeed
i love the universe
love the galaxies
love space
i mean, imagine seeing that view from a starship cruising along the galaxy?

I agree that space is indeed awesome. Several kinds of awesome, at least 3, in fact.
In particular I've always found pictures of nebulae to be especially stunning.
Pictures from Hubble here: http://hubblesite.org/newscenter/arc...leases/nebula/
The Hubble deep field images of far away galaxies are pretty damn awesome too.
Though poor Hubble is gradually dying at the moment, and with NASA shuttle missions to service it one last time repeatedly delayed, it may be that it doesn't happen, and Hubble will end up just another piece of orbital debris...
Still, there are always new space telescopes of various sorts on the horizon, though Hubble will always be special through how well known it became (I'd imagine that it's the only space telescope known by quite a number of people).
Not just nebulae are cool though, pretty much anything in space is automatically awesome. Bonus points if it either looks like something (horsehead nebula, sombrero galaxy, etc), or has monkeys on/in (none confirmed yet...)
Planets are obviously very awesome too. The simply incredible nature of the scale of features on Jupiter for example, extraordinary paint-like washes of colour. Or the Rings of Saturn, intricate patterns of density, barely visible spokes and resonances from the adjacent moons.
So. Yeah. Awesome cool.
