    Default Custom officers and generals + " Royal Guard" and now " Conquistadores" for spain

    Here's a mod that I made to get at least some evidence of kings in the game ( custom officers can be downloaded separately) , hope you like them

    Custom officers and generals

    new models for euro_general and euro_officer1


    new units : " Royal Guard "

    Mounted Royal Guards : similar to generals bodyguards but with added combat skill, charge bonus, fear aura, and high moral (as in real life these men never routed) limited to 1 unit only in monarchies ( they dissapear if a republic is established) and available to recruit once a royal palace is built




    Dismounted Royal Guards : as the mounted ones they have good stats, fear aura , and high morale they are also limited to 1 unit and to monarchies they also melee with sabres





    There's only one problem with the model used for the royal guard , some details (badges) don'r appear as they are supposed to and as my photoshop abilities just suck I couldn't make any changes for that so if someone wants to improve them the model is called " euro_king_and_courtiers " , this units will work for all european countries with monarchies


    Just finished another unit for spain Conquistadores (probably not historical for this era but just adds a more unique feeling to the faction)

    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 
    Conquistadores: equivalent to militias , same ranged stats but melle an defense stats rised a bit (between line and militia stats for melee) I intended to replace militias qith this unit for spain but that would be messing with the faction tables and more stuff that would cause compatibilitie problems with other mods so it's an adiotional alternative to militia no building limit and recruitable in the same buildings







    IMPORTANT: I've noticed that you can't have more than one mod that uses the localisation.loc (which is the one that makes battle and background text visible for units) I uploaded separate mods with different .loc for royals and for conquistadores and a version with one loc for both if you want to use both I hope someone finds a solution for this , of you hava other mods that use the localisation.loc you'll have to merge them copying the last 9 lines of my loc mods into hte other mod in orther to make the texts of both mods visible

    install : just extract to your data folder and start them with mod manager (if you download the royal_guard mod drop the royal_guard.pack and the royal_guard_loc.pack into your data folder and use mod manager to select the royal_guard.pack (the loc one is in movie pack format so you don't need to do anything with it)

    Love the whole mod, but the unit names and background don't show on custom battle lists or on the battlefield. Just a minor point.

    glad you like it mate , the on screen names and background should be visible if you extracted the royal_guard_loc.pack into the data folder (its in movie format for some reason it's the only way I found to make the text appear) I'll check it out anyway

    I've just checked it it's working for me also I read stuff about unit descriptions in other posts it should be working fine unless it has a conflict with another mod that edits the localisation.loc in this case the only solution could be merging them , copying the 6 last lines of my loc.pack into de other mod that is editing the localisation.loc

    He de reconocer que los capitanes a caballo te han quedado realmente bien pero los de a pie no me acaban de convencer... especialmente por la ausencia del tricornio.

    Gets confusing when you face the early French or Austrians using the Royal Guards... Would it be possible to switch the tunic and vest colours so that its faction-orientated on the outside and white on the inside?

    this is a confusion that rose often upon the fields throughout this era,especially between the white and red uniforms...several countries had white uniforms and almost all countries had officer corps that wore red as a symbol of their noble status...total catastrophe at timesI see leave it as it is,experience some of the confusion of battle

    I really don't know if that's possible I'll look at it later but my photoshop skills suck so if you want to try it or if someone wants to do it the textures are " euro_king_and_courtiers"

    Hahaha Me + modding = fail.

    Its still as good playing with white tunics...

    But I've fiddled around with my mods and I still can't get the unit names to appear...

    Why to make from unit King simple soldiers, and from unit Colonel (Commodore) - officers. Really this can appear well?

    there's no model for the king actually those are the courtiers that fight with the king ( too bad there isn't a model for the king )

    But I've fiddled around with my mods and I still can't get the unit names to appear...
    hmm if you have other mods that add units you should have other mod in movie type that alters the localisation.loc too (i've tested it with mods and wihthout and it worked) so if you do have that, make a copy attach it in a post and I'll add the required info for my units into your mod if you want

    ok it's mr thibs mod , if you attach this file MrThib-RevolutionFrancaise_loc_en.pack I'll add the entries that will allow the names to appear without affecting anything of mr thibs mod

    Umm...

    I tried to attach them, but it said that its an invalid file...

    (There is a .loc file for the Sharpe units too (that also happens to not work))

    yeah it's because it's conflicting with mr thibs loc , I have that mod too I'll edit it and attack it for you mate
