Crashes and Trymedia updates

So I was home sick and saw that EBgames has downloadable games. I found M2TW and since it was 19.99 and MTW is one of my favorite games I figured "wow" that's convenient. I dl everything for the game, install it, and then when I try to start the Grand Campaign the game crashes as soon as the audio and zoom to settlement start and it restarts my computer. I'm pretty sure i have all my drivers updated, i'll know for after monkeying about some more tonite when i have more time, but how do I apply the necessary patches to the game? I downloaded the non-Gold version which means my version is not at 1.3 yet. Based on other's peoples posts at various forums about the Trymedia DL process I think i'm out $20 since I cannot find their patch versions anywhere and the other patches for digital dl are not activemark compatible. Any help, even if it's sorry you are screwed go buy the box, would be greatly appreciated...
