    Default no half-trolls?

In Battle for middle earth we had the half-troll units, i haven't really read the books and my knowledge is purely based on the movies but shouldn't half trolls be in this mod too?Or is it just plain not possible?

Well half-trolls go completely against lore.

Actually it references half trolls (half men half trolls) at the battle of minas tirith; they are always referred to as sworthy men from the south, or troll men from the south. But yeah, the trolls are good enough.

Well I have not read the books yet, I seen other buffs talking about it

I think I seen that line dismissed as Tolkien just being descriptive.

Banned for not reading Tolkien´s work... oh wait...

Back on topic: During the battle of the Pelennor Fields, some big, black men from the Far Harad or South are mentioned, and Tolkien states they are similar to trolls. So thats what the trollmen are...

Of course, BFME´s depiction of half trolls is just...dumb...
You just wasted 4 seconds of your life reading this sentence. You'll read it again because it was so funny and waste another 4. And since you read that sentence, some more disappeared, count this sentence and it's 'nother couple. Good job time waster!

Anytime I've seen it discussed it has been dismissed I'm sure.

I would assume Tolkien is just saying this to describe the strength and height of the soldiers.

But as I say I have not read the books so I'll let someone more knowlageble like Varjon or JAL put an end to it.

It's best to just make the assumption anything in the B4ME series is either inaccurate or fabricated. The stuff that's actually right is a minority.

In Lord of the Rings was said something like this "...like half-trolls...", it has different meaning. They were just really big black men from Far Harad.

No need for racism Varjon. In the battle of the Pellenor in the Return of the King book, Tolkein writes 'Easterlings with axes, Variags of Khand and out of Far-Harad, black men like half-Trolls with white eyes and red tongues.' Trolls = big. Half-Troll = bigger than human but not as big as a Troll. I think it would be good as AOR units actually. Harad's shock, assault heavy infantry. Few in numbers but deadly.

If it describes them as being like half trolls then that means that even if they aren't half troll there at least hast to be a half trolls existing in the tolkien universe for tolkien to compare them to. See what I'm saying?
If not I try to explain it again if enough people don't understand.

The white eyes is just describing how black people eyes are more visible because of the color of their skin. An example

    That's racism? Come on.

I can't remember that particular line in the book, but it does sound like we're just talking about big, black men who were so large compared to the Gondorians they'd refer to them as half trolls. As for there having to be a reference to use that description - not necessarily. I would assume they just saw them, figured whoa they're almost as large as trolls.. but not quite, and named them half-trolls.

Thats what I was thinking, jsut because someone said they looked like half trolls doesnt necesarily mean that there are actual half trolls out there, I mean, they could just say "Hey those guys looks like their half man-half troll, theyre big, ugly and scary.."
