Default changing the voices of units when you click on them in battle

Could you change the voice of the units when you click on them? I notice each unit has a couple of variations.

I know the game samples are held in mp3 format in the voices pack, but in which file are the voices assigned to each unit? I want to sample some sounds and then add them to some units that I have created.

Would this be possible as it would be great?

    thanks

Check out the .csv files in sounds.pack, especially sounds_events_voices. The files will open with whatever spreadsheet you use (it'll open with notepad, for that matter, but I wouldn't do that--way too long).

the IS a way of switching different language voices for each unit.. for example, your advisor will speak russian if you are russia and german if you are prussia/austria etc.... i can't remember how all this worked though.... i am gonna do some research over at the russian forums and see if i find anything..

I'd like to know this too, my generals guard says anything but "generals guard" it's a minor gripe, but a slight immersion killer.

I've added the mp3 files to the voices pack and added the lines in to link them on sounds_events_voices but still no joy. I think I also have to alter this line in unit tables as well

depsite this my unit is still using generic "infrantyr", "yes sir" or "light infrantry responses

I have a small problem too. I added a new unit yesterday (Hungarian Infantry to Austria). So I copied the line_infantry files and only rename it to line_infantry2, but now the units if I click on them speak in a mix of unit names. I has no time yesterday anymore to search for this.

Where is the field to change them to line_infantry?

Edit: Maybe I put somewhere to much line_infantry2?

    Thanks

I agree here because some of my AUM units say just "infantry / yes sir" too.

It would be very good to know how to change that.

I've looked in the sounds_event_voices pack and there nothing there that defines what is/ isnt used.
F.E the officer sounds sying 'reload, make ready, aim' and, 'fire' have the same attribiutes as every other sound clip, F.E fire at will sound clips...
This is probaly unhelpful but its what i've found out

I tried last night just to swap out march music and the packfile manager kept giving me errors.
Hey Eire, What kind of sound file was the officers command. Do you think I could save the officers shout as one of the snare drum sounds?

.mp3 (i opened it in media player, could be wmv)
That would result in a constant sound loop...he'd be shouting 'march' over and over again. Though for the fire command.....

There is a sound_events_voices.csv file that lists the voice responses for each unit, but it does not appear to control them. Changing the sound file list in the csv makes no difference in the game. If you put "Black Watch" in all of the unit_specific_black_watch sound slots, the unit wil still respond within the game with one "Black Watch" and three other "sir, yessirs, etc"

There is also a sound_pack_voices.script file which I thought might be the controller, so I even tried deleting that to see what would happen - nothing happened, the game played as usual with the same voices for the same units.

Still can't understand why the csv has no effect, I've changed it in both sounds.pack and patch.pack just to be sure. Anybody got any ideas?
