    Really, I'm posting this for self-reference, but others might be interested as well.

    Good Factions

    Gondor = sicily
    Rohan = milan
    Dale = scotland

    Eriador = turks
    High Elves = egypt
    Silvan Elves = mongols
    Dwarves = moors


    Greeks group
    High Elves (egypt)
    Silvan (mongols)


    Gondor group
    Gondor (sicily)

    Northern European group
    Rohan (milan)
    Dale (scotland)
    Eriador (turks)


    Southern European group
    Dwarves (moors)

    Evil Factions

    Rhun = venice
    Harad = spain
    Isengard = france

    OotMM = hre

    Mordor = england


    Middle Eastern group

    Rhun (venice)
    Harad (spain)


    Eastern_European group
    Isengard (france)
    OotMM (hre)
    Mordor (england)
    Sauron (papal_states)

    No, not true, more like: ( haven't played all factions )
    Orcish Factions ( Isengard included ): Holy Roman Empire
    Good Men factions: England

    he is talking about the labels the game uses for factions (ie ownership in edu, buildings in edb, descr_strat,....)

    Yeah, it's for modding reference. I just wanted to have it available on both my compies for my personal mod projects, and figured people would inevitably ask the question of what vanilla label = what TATW faction. So there ya go

    but you'd better remove the capital letters from the labels themselves
    i.e. mongols not Mongols, papal_states not Papal States, hre not HRE - the game is very sensitive to cases

    even WITH the voices and stuff it holds up. the goblins fighting the high elves will give a german speech about fighting the egyptians and not having to throw away too many german lives
