Nice work, jan. Just a suggestion, you might want to upload a political map as well. With the boundaries of all the realms and the provinces. What do you think?

how should i create a political map - drawing the borders
by myself? borders of about 160 regions.
no, i dont have that much time. but you know what -take
my map and do a politcal map on your own or together
with some other guys, that have a lot of free-time. i'm sure
a lot of players will appreciate that.

What do you recommend to view that with? Windows picture viewer seems a little/a lot overloaded when I zoom in enough to see the region names.

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but what was the map made it?

Bugs: -Two Pinnath Gelins in western Gondor.
-In Rohan: two settlements (I don't remember names) south and south-west from Isengard are missing as well as rebel settlement south-west from Adorn.
We have developed speed but we have shut ourselves in: machinery that gives abundance has left us in want. Our knowledge has made us cynical, our cleverness hard and unkind. We think too much and feel too little: More than machinery we need humanity; More than cleverness we need kindness and gentleness. Without these qualities, life will be violent and all will be lost.

hm, strange. i view the big map in my windows picture viewer. i have
4GB RAM and a 2,1 Quadcore. but i didn't know that it would be a problem
    to view a 7MB jpg.
maybe you should use applications like Gimp which is freeware, open source
    and very good indeed.

Sorry for sounding like a noob, but what was the map made it?
i presume you are takling about the way the map was made, aren't you?
i used TATW of course, Fraps for the screenshots and photoshop to
place, cut, resize and edit the pictures.

(for the screenshots you can also use the "print screen" button on
your keyboard. but this only saves it to your RAM and will be overwritten
each time you press it again.
in this case you have to paste and save your taken screenshot every single
    time.
(would have taken a while when i would have used this method to
    arrange the 160 screenshots.)

I was referring as to how the original map for the third age total war was made. Like how the campaign map itself was created.

Nice map. Two bugs I noticed:

Erebor has the flag beside the name instead of above.
There are two Thirith Thoron settlements

Very, very sharp map!!! Movement through the mountains is easy, and the roads are great there, and the idea of putting in some prebuilt forts for the OotMM is smart.

As per request, I made a political map showing all the factions in relation to each other.

Here is the standard small size one:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

EDIT: Here's the massive one with all the settlements etc. Download here
Thanks to jan for making the thing - it's awesome and I hope you don't mind that I edited it.

    Cheers

Yeah, that's what I thought too, I have 4 Gigs of Ram and a Quad Core 2.66 Ghz, but for some reason it can't store a 7.2 Mb of picture in Ram and scroll around smoothly. Must be something wrong on my end. I'll try Gimp though, I have it installed already.
