    Default Heavy Performance Glitches

Now that I'll finally managed to get Third Age to work with Mithrandirs help it seems like there are heavy performance problems and I wonder why.

I play with an Quad Core Intel i7, 8 Gig RAM, a Gefore 295 and Vista 64 and so on and on.

I'm not sure whats going on but its somewhat laggy as hell...

Such an Awesome mod thougH! High Elves Rule.

Maybe Vista problems? It works quite well on my weak XP.

    I'm fine on Windows 7...

Probably a driver issue. Make sure you are up to date. Dual gpu cards always seem to have pretty terrible driver support...

I have a Quad Core Intel i7 extreme edition and a Gefore 295 and there is no lag at all, infact it's too fast, is there any way to slow down the campaign map scroll speed?.

In "Game Options" you can adjust Scroll & Rotate speeds, plus battle camera types.

im not sure if this is related to what you are experiencing, but i have noticed that when i play in the field with about 4000 - 6000 people, everything is fine. But when i have that amount in a siege, it laggs.

Yes i notice no lag in open field battles and i had 5 armies fighting all at once. But i had lag in a seige battle with just 2 large armies.Don't have that problem in medieval battles.

    i noticed this too...

I had a epic siege battle with 1200 Gondorians holding off against about 5000 orcs...

But when it got to the point of about 3000 orcs climbing the walls, it got extremeley laggy which is a shame as it ruined the whole battle...

However there is no problem during open battles. Am gonna try lowering building details and see if that helps, seems like most people are getting lag during big siege battles. Perhaps its unavoidable?

strangely i find i can turn down the graphics on the units to low and it does not affect there detail at all the still look perfect same level of detail as if i turn it on high but i do find on low it cures my lag problem well again yes in ubber sieges if i get 4k units in a city siege all on screen it starts to chop up but alot less now with my units detail on low try it.

i have to ask the makers is this normal i mean i pause it mid battle on a screen where i am close up to the fighting and change the detail and they dont change at all if i change anything else it affects details grass buildings effects etc so i leave them on high but units i run with low as they look perfect

graphics settings can be changed ingame, so i guess when i next start a large siege battle, i can drop the unit detail to low or medium and see how it plays...

Alot of people seem to of reported lag when playing large siege battles, and i think its lagging more then large METW2 siege battles were, so im not sure if its a problem the mod team can fix, or if its just a normal problem in all TW games..
