polybian reforms

ive just hit year 242bc. i havesicily, africe, gaul, northern italy. in short, ive met all the requirements but the reforms arent happening. im really looking forward to the reforms so this is really annoying me right now.

bononia, patavium, medolianium, segestica, lilibeo, messana, syracuse. all under my control.

You have to upgrade your barracks.

Plus, by the summer or autumn season you'll get a message from your advisor and he'll explain that the legions are outfitting themselves differently due to conflicts with the Poeni and Celts. The reforms don't occur right as 242 B.C. begins, I believe.

That is correct, I have never had the Polybians occur as soon as it hits 242 BC. It usually takes until the Autumn for me.

thats a relief because i went into a state of ultra panic as the reforms didnt go along.

I've just gone all the way through 242bc and haven't had any messages and the units in the recruitment panel are still the camillian ones.

The units in the recruitment panel will be Camillan until your new barracks are built. Check the next level of barracks on your construction list to see if they will recruit Polybian units.
