This is old news now but apparently so many of you still haven't got the memo. Fox news may not cater to your bias, but it itself is not biased, in fact its less biased than most News networks.

Shocking I know, you are so used to Faux news, and OMG Hannity! that you can't grasp that the network itself could actually be doing what they claim. Fair and balanced. Its this balance which makes them seem so biased to those used to a left leaning press.

But don't take my word on it, take it from UCLA.

In fact Fox had only one News segment considered right of center.

Only Fox News' "Special Report With Brit Hume" and The Washington Times scored right of the average U.S. voter.

"Faux News" as people like to call it is simply right-wing minded sorrounded by left-wing media like BBC which is in my opinion alot more biased, simply towards the other side.

Mind you, neither is ok, bias in news agencies in the size of Fox or BBC is simply wrong, no matter which side they cater to. News Agencies should report the news period, expressing their own political agenda should be kept to Opinion articles.

Oh yes, there is a study by extremely pro Israeli journalists proving the BBC is anti-Israeli. That means it is absolutely irrefutable. Did you know there are also studies by people showing how the BBC was bias FOR Israel in this past Gazan war, I.e. not airing the DEC emergency aid appeal for Gaza, despite airing one for Darfur?

Although you have no problem with FOX, because that is PRO-ISRAELI. QED. The only ''bias'' you have an issue with is bias which isn't your views. Therefore, it becomes irrelevant what you think, as you have an agenda.

This is what was said the last time I watched a bit of Fox News, with Bill O'reilly objectively covering the G20 protests in London.

"There are are three groups of loons. Anti-capitalists who want universal communism. Environmental extremists who have a litany of complaints. And anti-war folks who want to give peace a chance while Bin Laden and his crew cut off peoples heads."



So right there you have him bashing imaginary communists, environmentalists and pacifists, calling them insane and extremists, simplifying and practically ting the issues to a ridiculous level, whilst displaying the minimal 'rioting' and completely ignoring the largely peaceful demonstrations. In other words leaning more to the right than a man whos had his right leg blown off.

I saw this on Charlie Brookers newswipe, which has to be the most unbiased (and scathing) program I've seen not only on the news but news reports themselves. Well worth a watch.

Well, you can claim the same about all other sides in this discussion. Except for people who simply stated that all of them aren't blameless. It's just a matter of proportion.

The funny thing is that if it were a good news station their political alignment wouldn't matter. I watch and read plenty of media and newspaper and some of them are leftist and some are rightist, but because I only read and watch stuff above a certain level of journalism the worst they can do is add a hilarious commentary I cannot agree with, at best they put forward position I would not have considered myself.

If Fox News has only the credibility of not being liberal it says nothing about the quality about their reporting because it is entirely irrelevant what their position is as long as they can base it on facts. Funnily when it is decent news channels they can overall provide consistent information and still have diverging political views.

The closest Fox News seems to come to seems Bild or Sun or other tabloids.

I find it surprising that only 18 of 20 are left-centered.

This means that 90% of new channels would never report this study. And if the news doesn't report it, it can't be true.

Except...that wasnt the news. It was an opinion show (ala talk radio style) they run in middle of the night. Bias needs to look just at the news casting and not the OReilly, Olberman, Maddox or Hannity type shows.

Alot of people DO watch them and Fox shows are the highest rated on the cable news networks talking about a relatively low number of people (in comparison to population, news watching people etc). I think what Hannity and OReilly pull just under 3million viewers per night. I keep Fox tuned as background noise during the day and because like them or not they are quicker to breaking stories (REAL news) then CNN or MSNBC most of the time.
