PATCHING PLEASE HELP

Okay, so I just installed med II: tw and now I'm downloading 1.2... once I've downloaded it (using filefront) how do I install it?

You don't need to install the patches for M2TW. When you intall Kingdoms it will patch it for you up to 1.4. Then all you need to do is download and install the 1.5 patch for Kingdoms.

But when I tried to install kingdoms I got an error message saying it couldn't patch to 1.3 with my version at 1.00

Strange. That is trying to update 1.00 to 1.3 It needs to install 1.1 and 1.2 first

Go here to get them or the Sega site.

Then try to install Kingdoms.

ok, follow these instructions. I just got finished installing M2TW and Kingdoms last night, and it works perfectly.

1. Uninstall your M2TW and Kingdoms (so you can have a fresh start)
2. Install M2TW. (dont install any patches afterwards)
3. Install Kingdoms (during the installation you will be patched up to 1.4)
4. Install the 1.5 Patch
5. Enjoy your game.

Following that should work, it was exactly what i did.

NOOOO aaaa when I tried to install kingdoms i got the same message:
"This 1.03.00 update cannot be applied to the 1.00.00 version of the game."

pppppplllllllleeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaasssssseeeeeee help me! I reallly, really want to be able to play this mod tommorrow!!!!!!!

Erullluvatar, did you just try installing Medieval 2 and then Kingdoms right away without installing any patches in between? I think that's been mentioned before, but that's what I did and it worked perfectly. If that doesn't work though, try installing Medieval 2, downloading and installing Patch 1.2 for your correct region/edition of game (downloaded or physical copy, UK, EU, USA, etc, there's different versions of the patch I believe), run the game to make sure it patched correctly to 1.2, and then install Kingdoms. That also worked for me, and then I could patch from 1.3 (Kingdoms) to 1.4 or 1.5.

Note: If you try the second method, you should get the 1.2 patch from the official Medieval 2 website, just to be 100% sure it's a valid patch and doesn't screw up the game.

If none of that works, well then I'm stumped. I'm sure someone else is more knowledgeable though.....but I will try to think of something and I'll let you know if I do!




Just to kinda add to this topic, I currently have Medieval 2 plus Kingdoms installed, and I'm playing SS 6.1. I remember learning about the 1.5 patch when I was trying to install SS and I think I downloaded it, but for some reason I have this feeling I might not have installed it. Don't ask me why..... ---However, SS plays just fine and I've had no problems at all, even with a bunch of submods!

So is there any way one can find out if they are running 1.4 or 1.5? I've heard that they both show up as 1.4 in the main menu screen, so that's no good. Is there another way though? And just out of curiosity, what changes did the 1.5 patch make?

Try doing as General Frederick said. Although you may want to make sure after uninstalling that the Medieval 2 folder is completely deleted. You may also want to clean your registry with CCleaner or something similar.

Run SS or one of the Kingdoms campaigns. Open the options menu. I will say what version of the game you have in one of the corners of the screen.

What if you manually install patches 1.2 and 1.3 for Medieval 2 and then try to install Kingdoms?

Please tell what you did. Also, as stated above you want to make sure all m2tw files are gone before installing again

I was just about to suggest that. Try it and let us know what happens

At Strategy Informer 1.2 is an .exe so you just need to run it. The 1.3 patch is a .rar so you will need something like 7-zip to extract it first then you can run it.
