    Default Introductory Books on Astrophysics

Well, with my degree fast approaching completion, and job prospects looking grim for the moment, with no post-Graduate qualification planned (yet) I'm looking to expand my brain some more. I'm already planning on getting thick into 18th Century Philosophy, but I also want to start looking into Astrophysics.

So the question is simple: Anyone know any fairly accessible books on the subject?

A Brief History of the Universe - Stephen Hawking.

That is of course very introductory, and assumes you have almost no prior knowledge.
A new mobile phone tower went up in a town in the USA, and the local newspaper asked a number of people what they thought of it. Some said they noticed their cellphone reception was better. Some said they noticed the tower was affecting their health.

A local administrator was asked to comment. He nodded sagely, and said simply: "Wow. And think about how much more pronounced these effects will be once the tower is actually operational."

Yup, sounds like a good start before I start slowly getting into the more technical bits
