why are the faction names not in english and why are my kings are called Roy instead of King

Whats the deal with that? what language is it and why is it in my english version?

its really annoying, i changed some of the faction names back to english but i couldnt find all of them and i have no clue how to change the Roy to King, also when i hover my mouse over a english city it says Normand city instead of Enlgish city.

DLV puts the names into what they would really have been called at the time. To change the faction name or Roy to King you must find it in expanded.txt..

england was never called royaume de normand or whatever the name is!

It's French. "Normand Royaume de Angleterre" or "Norman Kingdom of England". The Plantaganent family were French (Normans), and during the time period represented by DLV, French was the language of the English royal court. In fact, some of the English kings during this time period spoke very little English (Richard I comes to mind). I don't have a problem with England being represented in this manner. I think it adds an element of immersion and historical accuracy.

As far as changing the name, I have no idea how to do that. Maybe one of the veteran modders around here will know.

Each nation uses it's own language for it's name, they are not all one language. In england only the peasants spoke the germanic/norse mix called Old English after Normans invaded, the aristocracy spoke Anglo-Norman.

Tech9374, french was one of the official languages in England by that times. You should read some history before talking about it.

I understand my countries history just fine thanks, but for one thing there was never a country called the Norman Kingdom of England so i find using that name odd.

Anyway, great mod.

one last question, does the DLV Europa mod feature titles and stuff like dlv? ie Royal banner, having to crown kings, etc.

It's been a while since I've played DLV Europa, but I believe it does have crowns and royal banners. It doesn't have all of the latest features of DLV 6.x since it's based on an earlier version, but it should have the basic features.

Maybe it's time to reinstall DLV Europa...
