    Due to bugs I discovered in campaign scripts, originating from Gracul's RC4 and RR/RC, I'm reposting AI files. Yesterday's 5:22PM GMT+1 release already included corrected 1370 and 1450 campaigns, so only Late/Early campaign fixes are new.

    Have any problems arisen since your 13th august post and is your battle ai now totally stable?

    I'm about to start testing my own mod and can try yours at the same time as long as it's stable.

    Are the parts of your mod in the campaign script essential to the ai or are they entirely for stakes and reinforcements?

    Do they also work on their own without the ai files?

    Ad. 1 No issues have arisen so far. Stakes are stable, as they've been a part of TATW since 1.1 and most of PB's RC-RR TATW releases, reinforcements script is new, but I managed to produce a version that has absolutely no reason to be unstable (I was getting "unstable" a lot while writing it though ). Any feedback is most welcome.

    Ad.2. These are not essential, but are a part of my improvement efforts ofc.

    Ad.3. Yes, they work on their own. I'm in a process of transforming the scripts so that they run independent from campaign script itself (I hope I finish it within 48 hours, otherwise I'll have to put it off until ~26th).

    Hi guys, i have a problem starting the BAI Switcher, when i start the game i get an error message:

    The game is running fine, but the switcher is not working.
    I dont know any solution, the windows script is enabled, i think my install is correct.

    Can anybody help me?
    BTW, i have Windows XP.

    That's one battle. I've had some other battles that exhibit those characteristics but they do not necessarily crash. I'm using your most recent AI for RRRC without BGR (and I did not get this problem before updating the AI), and I also used some corrected campaign script files that you posted somewhere (I think the RRRC thread).

    Any ideas? Has this already been addressed? Thanks for any help,

    EDIT: A search of my Stainless Steel folder only find 'General4' within the campaign scripts for the Italian City-States and Hundred Years' War campaigns. In both cases, the term (along with others mentioned in the above error) rests within a section called "Germanicu5 Integrated Stakes and Reinforcements Run script v0.48 ." Now, if I am playing Early Era Campaign (as I am), and the Early Era campaign script from your recent release/update/fix (http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showt...73#post5773573) that I am using lacks the Germanicu5 required by the battle AI, then perhaps this lack causes my crashes.

    EDIT 2: I cut and paste the script section from the early era campaign script used in your actual release into the campaign script I'd been using from that release/update/fix. I started a new campaign and so far have not had any problems in sieges or field battles, so perhaps the problem is solved.

    This is an extremely uncommon error, most likely WMI (Windows Management Instrumentation) service won't start, this could be due to disabling it, corrupted files (or some update issue), maybe a virus.
    I know of a solution that might help, but the problem is in your XP, so it requires fixing the system. Typing "sfc /scannnow" in command line makes the system check if original files weren't replaced and brings back safe copies, there might be some consequences, like odd system startup problems (although there shouldn't).

    AI files don't require the stakes script to work, so there's no obvious relation. Labelling errors will always pop out, but they have no influence on stability, it's easy to blame scripts though - coz they always produce some seemingly obvious evidence. I hope your game stays stable now, maybe the files got mixed up on your system in some strange way.

    G5, you CANNOT be on vacation NOW, right when we need you (or at least I do).
    Yesterday, I started a new campaign with 1.391. Late era Turks on vh/vh and ran the first ten turns with no problems. The ERE archers deployed stakes in two battles (looked good) but of course in the first battle I had already circled my Lancers around behind them. The second my horse archers had already cut their number in half so there weren't too many stakes to deploy. Anyway I didn't bother to make a save before quiting for the day.
    Today, after trying a couple of test Custom Battles (for research) I went back to yeaterday's autosave & picked up where I left off. But now, every battle crashes in about ten seconds after start. I tried attacking an ERE army NW of Ispata and a Fatamid army SW of Edessa. Both times using the GB, 2 or 3 HAs, one archer, and one infantry. After 4 crashes I tried to move on by doing noth except hitting "End Turn" and attacking on turn 11. CRASH

    And of course I made a save before trying to advance. It looks like "reinf_arrive" is where the crash occurs. take a look when you can. I'm going to restart this campaign and see if it reoccurs.

    I have a clean install of SS 6.1 + 6.2rc4 with hotfix and i used this script

    All these errors are normal, although the crash itself isn't . Actually this crash looks like a crash from early releases of reinforcements script, so maybe there's some installation/Vista issue?
    I'll have a look at the savegame later on, some crashes like that are connected to animation packs, but it's hard to judge it without bigger investigation.

    To paraphrase "Gold Hat"- "Vista? We ain't got no Vista! We don't want no Vista!" Vista is just a big, heaping pile of overpriced horsemanure.
    My problem only occurs when I go back and pick up a save. Start a new game-no problem. Never exit game-no problem. Play a turn (including some battles ),exit , go back into game at autosave (start of turn), try same battle and crash occurs.

    File was just unzipped to SS6 data folder. Relevent files(config_ai_battle, etc) dated Aug 7, Aug 13 & Aug 14. An

    I have a huge problem here.
    First of all i have Vista.
    I also have an external disc of 1000GB and i put all my games at this.
    The point is that when i transfer M2TW to the external disc and try to launch SS(including your mod,latest version+latest switcher)a message appears(the title is-Windows Script Host) and says that acess denied for the switcher and the game crashes.

    I don't know what to do

    Make sure your external drive has the same rights set as your internal drive had - looks like something related "error:acess denied"
    Every time I copy onto my external I have to go into "admin mode" because my normal users hasnt the necessary rights so maybe you got the same setting.

    Germanicus, did you ocasionally do something that AI sees deployed stakes? I have played about 10 battles today with Varangian Archers deploying stakes - enemy cavalry either charged other troops (and ignored archers) or flanked my archers from a side!!! I tried to position stakes in few different ways - they still go around. Only once I managed to "catch" them with stakes, but still only few died. Once an enemy army was approaching me with a general in the middle - infantry went through stakes, general stopped right in front of them. (I am not sure if he did it on purpose, he was stopping quite often and running back and forth). WTF?!

    P.S. AI sometimes ignores being shot at. They just do nothing and wait. This needs to be fixed.

    P.S.S. 1.39 is a really good improvement. AI just doesn't want to let my cavalry flank them and die.

    I get the impression that he did this as well. I had my archers form an imperfect triangle of stakes and sit inside. The enemy cavalry maneuvered about and charged through the somewhat small gap without (significant) losses... it was embarrassing for me, but very good job with the AI.

    Wait for the next point blank compilation ...it probaly will end with the doubts about install correctly the modmodmod

    The best BAI I've ever seen. I,m playing Byzantines campaign and it manages perfectly western forces relying on heavy infantry and cavalry as well as muslim armies with lot of HA and javelimen. The only drawback so far is mongol AI which is completely bugged. Here's a picture of recent battle with jihading mongols near Costantinople.
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read: 

    Mongols light foot archers in the centre enclosing on a distance when my archer militia would reach them despite of their long range ability. Mongol infantry and heavy foot archers behaving the same way. Enemy siege egines (on the picture trebushets) get very close and don,t shoot. In previous battle mongol catapult crew park their vehicle 5 metres from my spearmen line. Mongol HA just standing in the formations close to my line and getting slaughtered by my archers. Sometimes some trigger is activated and they run closer my troops but they running so close to each other that it,s a massacre. Mongol heavy and light cavalry just standing in the formations and not doing nothing through the whole battle, while my crossbows shoting to them like ducks. When 50% of them is killed they sound retreat, so I lost few archers and they lost half of the army.
    In custom battles meele cavalry decide to attack me after death or route of all HA units but they are so weakaned by missile units shooting to them during whole battle that they cant do anything.
    I don,t have an idea what cause such a behaviour. In a battles with other HA nations like Turks or kwarezmians they send their skirmisher cavalry forward and keeping their meele units in a safe distance while HA are fighting.
    I've thought that mongols will be dangerous and scary when I saw their armies and it's gonna be real challenge but behaving like that they,re pathetic.

    I have no problems while using scripts, neither does PB when he's testing AI and scripts, there has to be some install issue, but I'm not sure, what to blame this on. My installation includes Kingdoms updated to 1.05 and then just regular SS+RR-RC files, some commands were only made available in 1.05, so not updating to this version may cause future instability.

    @czeresniak

    I'll look into that, I can blame it on AI's inability to manage missile troops (that includes calculating battle odds), but I'll see if anything can be done. Formation looks ok, assault range too, I have an idea that'd fix it, but it'd end up in spoiling AI's general batle behaviour.

    Reworked AI is up, most notably it enables stakes for AI in custom battles.

    Campaign script file is no longer in use, which means any possible instability issue can be omitted by not clicking "Show me how" when pre-battle panel opens, which means you'll never again be asked to restart your campaign in order to fix any issue.

    Reinforcements script has been updated to eliminate all detected stability issues, AI was updated thx to PB's feedback.

    Detailed instructions:
    Campaign restart is recommended, you can continue your campaign though, you can even click the advisor and turn the script on - if it crashes your battle, just ignore it until you finish your current campaign - no danger to savegames here.
    When pre-battle panel opens you'll see advisor face popping out, click it and follow instructions. It needs to be started only once during a single session without loading/leaving the game, the face will show before each battle though. I let player choose whether the script should be started to ensure better stability.

    ALL future updates will be savegame compatible .

    - known issue (thx to CA ;P): if more than one battle is played during 1st turn, advisor intended for custom battles will show during deployment phase - don't click it.
