i hear the japanese gov. has been investing in a missile defence shield; how's that coming along?

i doubt the north koreans would want to target south korean civilians tho, preferring instead the US bases on the peninsula.
even the north korean Generals who've been educated overseas would know the merits of winning the support of the south kroeans for a unified korea.

Well yes they would have seen it as an aggressive act of war probably, but far from launching any nukes. As motive-8 said it turned out it was much more of a man/snake relationship then we had thought. The reason why we get so worried about places like N. Korea and Iran is that we don't think they think about MAD as we do. It could very well turn out that they do, but given N. Korea's detonation of a bomb (a dud though it was) and their testing of missiles towards Japan it doesn't exactly look that way.
