Which side do you sympathise with in the Galactic Civil War?

It's a Starwars variant of the Vestigia Vestustatis civil war threads. So, which is it, Empire or Rebels?

For me it's the Empire. Nothing ever seems to work out for them. They lose just about every battle with the Rebels, even when they have a Death Star on their side. Stormtroopers can't hit the broad side of a barn, TIE fighters are worthless against X-wings, I mean, how did they ever manage to become an empire in the first place? I think they should have won since they were clearly the underdogs.

The Empire owned the Rebels at Hoth. And on Bespin.

Even at Hoth the Empire still managed to lose at least two AT-AT's while attacking a snow fort. In Ep. 6 the Empire was prepared for the Rebel attack, and the Rebels still managed to destroy their death star.

Also, I think I'd feel safer with Stormtroopers patrolling than the Rebels. Stormtroopers are always saying "Halt!" or "Stop right there!", like they just want to see some ID or something. Then usually one of the Rebels will blast him in the face. Stormtroopers always seem more interested in taking prisoners too. They will cease fire if they have the Rebels surrounded and try to take them into custody. This is another point where they get blasted in the face and fall into one of those abysses that the Empire installs into everything that they build.

The Rebels, because they are not sadistic chauvinists.

The Empires a perfectly fine faction IMO, just too much corruption rampant in it. Sure the rebels were the good guys at the time but the same would happen to their republic in due time.

Plus the Empire has sheer badassery in everything they do. Stormtroopers, tie fighters, sith, cool uniforms, planet-destroying space stations, etc.

I mean it was the corruption among the leadership, obviously rooted with Sidious. Everyone else was just following orders.

This thread is made of win! I sympathize with the Rebels. Although I think the Empire is more badass.

Rebels because Palpatine keeps spending a military budget on unnecessary like death stars.
Now I would gladly support the Fel Empire!

I've always been a fan of the Empire

In real life I'd probably side with the Rebels as I'm a rebel by nature, but the Empire is pretty badass themselves as they have a snubfighter that can destroy a solar system and is basically indestructible.
