I dont know about the thread, but if there would be a new MTW, i would like to see the following. One, i do not like the ideas of how the cities are in ETW, they should go back to MTW, much better. And i would like to see how it is possible as a faction to only control strategic important sites. This would make it more realistic. Example: Instead of Sicily fighting a long and bloody war with multiple nations, they should only take one province and try to control the mediteranean. Like taking cyprus, crete, southern greece, some other islands and coastal cities. Because the way the game works is that you have to eliminate entire factions (or make them your vassalls) to be able to move on to the next area.
I would think that CA will go back to Rome by making RTW 2 before even going to MTW3
Agreed I would make more factions of Muslims/Pagan and Orthodox. Script the game where different relogion can't be allied, they could be neutral to each other but no alliance and this includes with the Pope. I would like to have more diplomatic capabilities like please take "your army off my lands" " canel your alliance with them or we will attack", " we will give you 1000 florins per turn for military help/assistance in battles" but real help this time around cause right now rarely this is done. Maybe be able to sell some units to a ally that needs a full stack right away...
What do you think
I totally agree with the diplomacy stuff. Like helping out allies by giving them units. And the threatening people to take their armies off your lands. That'd kick ass. Dont agree about the different religions not allying though. The Byzantines had Muslim allies as did the Crusader States. It was part of their success as they would ally with some Muslim factions and play them off against one another. One that note though, Crusades and Jihads could be done better. I would like to see better co-ordination between crusader/jihad forces from different factions, coz surely theyd try n get along for the sake of the crusade, even if they wernt on good terms back in Europe
Bigger map, more settlements, more minor factions, better diplomacy, improved family tree, the possibility to choose the successor, different campaign maps for early, high and late Middle Age like in Medieval1, much more historical accuracy and different types of historic castles.
Yeah, they should improve diplomacy a bit. Like if you accidentally position your army in an another faction's land without a military, your relation worsened, while the AI would just sit on your land and you can't do nothing about that except bribe (which I only managed once) or just plain attack them.
and I'd like titles, like if you conquer Caen, you'd be Duke of Normandy, or you can put one of your sons or generals as Duke of Normandy and his descendants will inherit the title, but you also have the choice to strip the title, their loyalty will dip and such. Or if a faction's king is dead, you can contest the throne.
