Default Installing IBII on Steam version of M2TW:K...

    Hey folks at IBII,

I was wondering if IBII is compatible with the Steam version of Medieval 2 Total War: Kingdoms download.

I've successfully installed IBII and the IBII patch, but after running the Kingdoms Launcher, IBII isn't on the list ( but Stainless Steel is ).

I ran the patch file and it brings up the Kingdoms Launcher as well without IBII listed on it's drop-down menu. I've taken a quick look through the IBII files (since I'm a pretty hardcore modder myself and I kinda know what to look for if there are errors ) and everything seems to be in place.

My install directory is E:\Steam\steamapps\common\medieval ii total war\mods\IB2

If there is any other information that I need to provide to further remedy this situation, please let me know.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

    P.S.

I did a search for this topic/keywords "Steam", "Steam install", "Steam error" but nothing showed up...I hope I didn't miss it.

Speaking for myself, I don't know. I am not too familiar with steam. Maybe Riothamus might know

Ah, the situation worsens! lol no worries, maybe someone will come along soon, eh?

BTW, after installing IBII, my install of SS doesn't work...any ideas lol?

EDIT: Actually, none of my Kingdom mods work now. Americas, Britannia, etc...

EDIT 2: My vanilla install of M2TW doesn't work...dang... looks like a day of testing.

After a couple of tests, My installs of vanilla M2TW and other Kingdom mods (SS and original, vanilla Kingdom mods) are working with IBII installed. The original problem persists, I have yet to find a way to launch IBII through various methods.

After a couple of days of testing ( not literally days...more like 10-12 hours between two days ) I still can't figure it out. That's too bad because this looks to be a great mod.

Maybe another day eh? Good luck IBII.

You probably already checked this but does your IB2 launcher icon propeties start up, match your intallation path?

    Yes sir, it sure does.

    EDIT:

If you take a look at my previous post, I stated that I have Stainless Steel working on my Steam install of M2TW (SS 6.1 to be specific).

I've editted registry values, tried different Steam install paths ( re-installing Steam somewhere else and installing IBII there [ SS worked in these as well] ), etc, and etc.

No worries mates, I'll just have to get pre-occupied with another mod. I appreciate you folks trying to assist.

I figured out a "quick fix" for this problem I've been having! I was at work and it just hit me out of nowhere lol and I thought I'd share it with the IBII community just in case it occurs again for anyone else.

-First download IBII and the latest patch(es).

-Install IBII and the latest patch(es).

-Open your /medieval total war ii/mods folder and rename your "americas" mod folder to something like
"americas1" (just so you don't have to make a backup and delete it out of the mods folder).

-Rename your IBII folder to americas and run your Kingdoms Launcher.

-Click on the Americas campaign and IBII will load up instead of the Americas campaign!

I hope this helps anyone that has the Steam version of M2TW: Kingdoms!

Thanks for the great mod IBII, I'm loving it so far ( but I'll be playing TA:TW for a while )

    P.S.

This "quick fix" will work for any Kingdoms mod.

This fix worked for me, too. Thanks!

Yes, the original work around was to install the old "Retrofit" mod, and then just copy all the files into it and launch it that way, but the Americas is the same.

I had to do it for SS before they had the whole registry fix with the installer.
