Unlocking Fractions, etc.

Hello everyone,

I'm trying to unlock several of the fractions however, I'm having a bit of trouble.

Here is where I'm stuck:

First, I go to C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat

Then I edit the text to unlock the fractions, but when I try to save the file I get a message saying:

"descr_strat
This file is set to read-only.
Try again with a different file name."

How can I fix this?

Right click the file.
Choose 'properties' on the pop up menu.
Remove the tick mark on the 'read only' box in the new window.
Click 'Apply' and 'OK'
Save the file as normal.

I did that but, I seem to be having one more, slight problem. After I do that and then click 'save', I get another popup message saying:

"Cannot create the C:\Program Files\SEGA\Medieval II Total War\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt file.

Make sure the path and file name are correct."

What can I do about this?

Check again if the 'read only' is still selected. If not, then you might not have administrative rights on the machine you are working on.

That's probably the reason. I'm using a Toshiba Laptop I bought a few months ago, so I'm not sure how I can attain the administrative rights. Would you know how I could do that? (I'm not very familiar with computers).
