    Default Odd Pictures...

I was just completing a quick turn in my Roman campaign and came across this:

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:

As you can see from the minimap, Iberia has not expanded out of...well...Iberia. I just found this a bit odd and out of place. Anyone else come across bizarre happenings in your campaigns?

Probably bribed by a wandering diplomat.

I occasionally see roving armies here and there. Nothing unusual in my experience.

That's my bet. I kept trying to kill that indie greek family member you see in the picture, and in one of the battles, the Iberians, my allies, fought with me. They had two units, I forget one, but one was a unit of Eastern Skirmishers or something. So yes, likely a bribed army.

I've seen a German, or some Barbarian, Greek faction leader hanging around Rome. Yes, it's that bizarre, I shall have to check if he's still there, and take a picture.

I like to bribe an army very far from home and see if I can either take, buy, or bribe a small city somewhere and start a second part of my empire. It's very difficult if the home team decides they don't want you there.

I send diplomats into India and buy the largest army I can find. I once had so many Indian elephants that full-stack Seleucid armies were fleeing the battlefield at the sight.

Cool, elephants can cause full routs without contact? *rushes off to try it on custom battle*

I've never had it with elephants but there has been several times I've had this happen. I haven't seen them "route" per se, but it seems more to be a organized withdrawal. Its more common when you have reinforcments joining your main army. Almost like the AI is satisfied with the odds of the battle until the extra troops join up with the main body.
Right, as the world goes, is only in question between equals in power, while the strong do what they can and the weak suffer what they must.
