What is a "State Ensign", exactly? The second link says "State and War Ensign", but I don't know what the first term means, exactly.

State ensign is just representation of the state (being the monarchy, actually sorry yes the white one is the state ensign)

KippyK - State Ensign should be the national flag, war ensign should be the army flags. I *THINK*!
State ensign is for military purposes only, war ensign just means they are 'at war'. All 'ensigns' are military.
I would like ot be a researcher but I don't really have the time, sorryIt seems you have good enough researchers anyway
This mod is going to be brilliant.
EDIT: @ KippyK - That one is my representation of felipe's national flag so it's not entirely accurate, or at least i can't prove it untill I can find out what it looks like. I only have written descriptions of it.

Thanks anyway Vanquisher, the Spanish Flag looks much better now. Feel free to chime in if you see something that needs to be changed whenever you want!
EDIT: Is that screenshot the Spanish Flag I just made already in action? Looks good! I need to get the Main Faction Flags sorted out so Trasibulos can make the UI flags.
The website I linked to says its a State Ensign then.. hmmm. I actually think the red one you've provided, Vanquisher, might be the way to go... It would help avoid confusion with Portuguese flags on the campaign map.
Alright what do you think now Vanquisher. Personally I think it looks way better than the previous one I used:

Yes, as I said the Royal arms was the representation of the state, which is that red one. The state ensign represents the state at sea. Anyway I have produced a representation of the flag felipe v made (was supposed to be a natioonal flag but the royal arms were still officialy recognised).
EDIT: That is fantastic
It looks great ingame too

Aykis, I think that flag looks great. Well done! Good info, Vanquisher!
EDIT: Vanquisher, what is that flag, the new one with the Burgundy Cross and the royal arms? I think it looks really cool!

Alright Kippy, I've added you as an official Researcher. I need help finding a few things. Start out with Austrian Faction and Battalion Flag (someone said my battle flag was for a Tuscan Regiment, which is not what I wanted).
Vanquisher, thanks for your help, would you like to become a researcher as well?
Gotcha, thanks for clearing that up for me Vanquisher. Aykis, I'll begin looking into it!
Ah I seeIts essentially the same thing though. Again, thanks for the help!
Hi all
I'm working on what you suggested to me. I'm working also on alternative startpos.esf to make them compatible with our Minor Factions Republic/Monarchy Flagset
I think we should ask IS for permission to mod his startpos.esf
let me know about !
Bringing back democracy to Athens (only on the weekends)
Active projects:
Dumb Supply System beta ver. 0.2 for Total War Rome 2 Campaigns
Citizen Hoplites Mod for WOS Campaign - Soft Overhaul based on Peloponnesian War facts
Previous mods
Regalia of Nations Mod - Total Flags Conversion
Ui, Naval & Land Flags Republic/Monarchy for All Minor Factions
Naval Flag Total Conversion Mod for ETW
Aykis' ALL Land Battle Flags Total Conversion Mod
More Revolutions Minimod for ETW
Just to let everyone know, if you're using a different startpos.esf, you will not be able to get Minor Nations Alternate Flags unless you alter it. We will probably release compatible startpos.esf for future updates so you might still enjoy this feature.
APE, IS, and Darth are all slated for compatibility startpos. CA really needs to release a mod tool that will allow us to combine mods better.
intressting mod,,, will keep my eye on this one.
An old National Geographic...
Page 371 of the document has a nice page of illustrated flags from 1705 I believe. Came across this while searching for some Austrian Flag references, but maybe it has something you could use.
The search continues!

Just send em to me and I'll put em all in the next update. Thanks Trasibulos.
I'm not too familiar with Austrian history, but is this the correct flag?
I've found this at several sites as the "Habsburg Monarchy" flag. Unfortunately, as you can see on the previous page, I really don't know the difference between types of ensigns and whatnot... This flag obviously flew as a flag for the Hapsburg monarchs, but I don't know if it was an actual national flag at the time. I tried to cross-reference the flag with Charles VI's rule in Austria (since he ruled for the largest section of our opening period), but I only came across his personal arms as Holy Roman Emperor:
Would the Austrians have identified as the followers of the Holy Roman Emperor? At this point in time, wasn't it mostly a ceremonial title?
