I just fought a siege battle defensive against the AI, it was going rather well and was quite epic with my forces retreating to buildings within the fortification. Unfortunately I didn't realize that the AI ising retarded and decides to Zerg rush the center- now because I've gone "realistic" here and tried to conserve my forces (1:2 battle, I was
ed basically lol.. but surprisingly I was kicking ass big time) by hiding them all in the buildings rather than defend the walls. By doing this I left the flag in the center completely un-defended, the 5 Mins started to tick down on the riddicluously small icon at the top of the screen with an even smaller font saying "you have 5:00 till you loose".
Unknowingly I get to 0:00 with a good 700 men still to go and have lost very few, it would have been a crushing victory but unfortunately ALL 700 men die because the timer ran out and the AI had more than enough troops to commence a major attack on one of my main cities which forced me to return my forces back to the mainlands. This is VERY early in the game so I tend to spread my forces out quite a bit.
I've always hated this feature, its unfair and is un-effected by the "time limit" counter that you set before the campaign. I'd like to extend it to 24 Hours REAL TIME to stop the pesky AI from stealing a victory from me as this ruined the realism for me and made the game play more of a zerg rush.. Who the hell in their right mind would do that in a war?! I didn't expect the AI to try it, but they did, they ran their general RIGHT into the center of the shooting- because they had so many soldiers for my guys to shoot at they stole victory from me.. if this had been real life they would have either entered the buildings to kill my men OR sit there and keep shooting back and getting owned by my garrisons.
What the hell is the point in Forts if you can't use the FORTIFICATIONS! its stupid- I'd change this myself but I don't know where the variable is in the packages- if someone could point me in the right direction that'd be hot.
Thanks.
