Well, I know it's stupid to post another thread in another forum to be discussed, but kind of like side liners, what do you think about the forum user Ivar? I'm interested to know if there are people who agree with anything/all he said. And what are your views about the entire discussion there? I'm pretty sure you people will find his posts, as he posts allot not only in this specific thread, but in the entire forum (also somehow manages to turn discussions of animals into a Russia discussion).

Moderators: If this thread is off topic, please move it, or if you must, delete it. But since we are discussing his views, I think this is a political discussion.

1. Terribly corrupt? "Terribly" is a relative term. Corruption in Russia isn't all that harmful, even though it is a major problem.
2. "Out of control"? No, Russia isn't "out of control". We simply follow our interest, like any other country. And who is it to control us if we are "out of control"?

Well, I admit that such generalities are useless and simply not true, even if there are problems, but Russia has some pretty big problems, and it is a very big country to go around invading unchecked. So is the US mind you, i am not singling out Russia.

Russia didn't invade anyone unprovoked. You must remember that Russia had signed an (international) treaty to intervene if violence breaks out. Plus, the Georgians attacked Russian peace keepers.

I don't personally have much stock in anyone's opinions if they are overly bias in one regard. Everyone's got bias towards something, but if you can't concede any points no matter how well presented then you are clearly to much of a block head to bother arguing with. Not saying that about you or him, just people in general.

As far as Russia, I jsut don't know enough. I do know that they are the most widely disliked tourist in Prague after Italians =D.

Well, the Chinese have the habit of copying, renaming and mass producing all Russian weaponry sold to them (and pretty much everything else or at least video games and Windows. Not that it's bad..).

Besides, haven't there already been sold Sukhoi aircrafts to China?

PS. I would say the relations are pretty good from what I have gathered.

I find it interesting that Russian politics focuses on the Western Threat while ignoring its eastern territories. You would think that something may have been learned during the war with the Japanese.
