1704 I am Spain a new campaign and Just took out Portugal<sp?> and England went in with them so I win and here is the B.S. part I go to diplomatic page trying to get peace and pull up tech part and again this is 8 turns in and here is what they got with 1 college cambridge <and I checked all their lands>

1 gent with 8 stars
2 gents with 5 stars
and these 4 techs

1-seasoning
2-flintlock
3-naval shore facility
4-empiricism

now tell me how you get all this in 8 turns

Unless we know what they started with, it's difficult to determine. If they began with that 8-star gent, then Empiricism might have been only 2 turns. Likewise for Seasoning. There's still 4 turns for them to trade/research the rest.

Well 1st to even have 3 gents in 8 turns much less a 8 star and two 5 stars is all most impossible ...
With London being the only large city they start with it takes 4 turns to build royal observatory that is only way to get a 3rd gent with 1 college not to mention it takes 4 turns to get college from school and you have to build opera house before royal orb and that is 3 turns.....

I just went and looked and Issac Newton starts out as a 8 star and they do get seasoning but that is all that still leaves

building college and opera house then royal orb just to get 3 gents and now learn 3 other techs all in 8 turns

and that is not possible... And forgot till now you have to finish empiricism to even build college ...
