You could not pay me to buy another TW game. I knew from the past few that the TW were not exactly my favorite games, but this one had a lot more Civ3/4 type features advertised so I gave it shot. I made my mistake, and I will never make it again.
well for one.. it has STEAM which SUCKS.... secondly the people in the sid team have a huge amount of experience making competent AI in a much more ... shall we say changing environment... the CA team cant even make an AI that works in a set environment
and well the Civ teams usually release their games complete..
i own Rome w expansions Med with expansions and Med 2 with expansions.. sure their releases were buggy but they were never incomplete.. and if they had steam on any of those i probably never would have bought them.. i gave it a chance.. and it failed miserably

I will. I haven't experienced many problems with Empire and I've loved all the TW games.

I voted no till this one is fixed first!
Total War is the only massive war game that has yet to be Surpassed keep up the good work CA don't let us down!!!!
More likely than not yes. I haven't had major problems with Empire, and I really do like the series. In a way it would depend on what era they did.
Yes, but not a pre order because any incentives, if its like Empire, can be found in the standard edition. Also, I will wait to see the reviews, and until all the major bugs are fixed. I don't want another mistake like this where I am stuck with a game like this which just turned unplayable for me today.
Not on releaseday, no.
Most likely yes. CA needs people to buy the game at release or short after to fund the bugfixing and such, or they will lack the capacity to do so. Too many holding out on buying = failed release = no budget for fixing it to a proper standard (although the core of it is good) = CA gives up.
R2TW stance: Ceterum autem censeo res publica delendam esse
There should be a third option: Wait and see.
I agree, I have always bought their games on pre-order, but ETW was a bit of a let down. The next release will be an expansion, I presume, so perphaps it will be well sorted. I do think that the Kingdoms expansion was well sorted and was the(to a certain degree)completed MTWII. It's just a shame it took them so long to complete it!
So whilst I may well have the expansion on pre-order, another full release like ETW, well I may well wait to see how some of you guinee pigs respond to the latest efforts of the CA/Sega alliance.
In no way will I buy a TW game on release day and be a beta tester for CA. Aint happinin...
Down the line if it's patched or fixed I'll prob pick it up if the era appeals to me.
I'll buy it....
The entire game stopped working for me at the moment so that's really annoying but it still gave me a few weeks of good fun which is more then I can say for most games that cost the same.
I put yes, but it depends on alot of things.
Regardless of my current disappointment with what I find to be CA's least immersive campaign ever, I shall, no doubt, be unable to resist buying CA's next offering on Day 1, especially if it's Rome II. However, we have the inevitable Napoleonic expansion to endure first: let us hope that it is not as lacklustre as CA's current "flagship".![]()
No, I will wait some months or maybe a year until thereīs an finished version. I donīt want to install a dozen patches. And I hope the next game is without steam and you donīt have to register it via Internet, but this times are over I think. I miss the good old days, when a game was finished and worked without problems after the release.![]()
