    No you aren't.

You are a poser. Just like Job For A Cowboy. Poser metal. Tough guy music. Wannabes.

Yes but powerman 5000 isn't terribly heavy either.

    Gorgoroth
Abigail williams, especially their latest album

Cradle of filth and Dimmu borgir have some harder stuff. You might like them if you like some of the bands you mentioned though. but seriously? Slipknot? They're like the reason I didn't get into any metal save industrial metal earlier.

On a somewhat related note, I decided to check out slayer the other day on youtube, and I don't see what all the fuss is about. They aren't terribly hard at all!

Screamo is hardcore punk with screaming (and emo overtones), hasn't got much to do with metal

Slipknot redeemed itself with All Hope is Gone imo. I didn't really take them too seriously until then.

please dazzle me with some of your excellent tastes in music, cause I know you guys do have em.

I'd classify them under hard rock, but they certainly have metalesque elements, especially in their last CD.

They are still one of the purified masses that shouldn't be allowed in.

    Most things are hard rock.

Metal is a tag of rebellion. Metal is too hard, fast and sadistic for most people. But everyone wants that tag of rebellion.

Well sadly, I missed half of Testament...for some reason Michigan took a nice big 3 lane highway and barreled off the left lane, north of Detroit. And after we got through the traffic mess that was Detroit, we got stuck in that ...

We got into the parking lot and said, "Hope they haven't started playing yet."

Then we heard Practice What You Preach. And then my buddy tossed his cigarette and we sprinted.

That is my favourite ever song - although I gotta say I find the original one way better.
Not a huge fan of the extreme lyrical styles though, to be fair.

I saw them live and they bored me a bit. Though that's probably because I was waiting to see Slayer...

Its Horses for courses and I can understand that. As you can probably see, they are my favourites along with Tool and the Red Hot Chillies (Up to By the Way, Stadium Arcadium was all wrong)

In my opinion, Mastodon are more talented than Slayer, and more groundbreaking. But Slayer are awesome, Seasons in the Abyss comes to mind...

Is anyone going to Download Festival this year? Line up is solid, and ZZ TOP are there!
