Depends on your government - But you should be able to select the minister and fire him, the button is on the right side of the minsters page.

You can also hold a new election or shift the ministers around by dragging and dropping them.

    Hope that helps!

How many stars does your current treasury minister have? What ancillaries?

They do not need to have specific effects, some people operate better in other positions, you'll notice some ministers will lose or gain stars in different positions.

If you mouse over your treasury minister and it says you have a -12% to tax income, it's that minister and he needs to be replaced. Anyone under 3 stars is going to be a drain.

Let me know how it works out!

i always fire anyone under 3 stars ( and generally 3 star people too...) (if i rememer to check). the only thing i find annoying is as any sort of monarchy you cant somehow assinate the monarch... in a republic you can at least force an eleciton

You have a -12% tax rate? How is that even possible? You are paying your people for everything they make? I can see how that would be a money drainer.

No, his treasury minister has a -12% effect on tax income.

What the others said: Take the time to look at your ministers' traits and ancillaries. Generally positive are traits that give +1 management. There are some traits which give +1 management for a certain position (like, +1 for justice), and also some decreasing management in a certain area. It doesn't hurt to have someone with -1 to justice manage your taxes, but you shouldn't let him into the justice administration.

In an absolute monarchy, either kick him, or drag another minister or one of the candidates onto his position. In a constitutional monarchy, you can still kick him with the button. No idea what works in a republic.
