    Default battle AI changes

    I have been working on changing the battle AI. The changes I have made seem to be working well. They may be included in a second patch among other modifications. I share some pictures with you


    Visigoths are much more aggressive









    they assaulted my front line and then tried to outflank me on my left flank






    The battles are much more intense









    The body count much higher







    the end result -- Visigoths will take heavy casualties before retreating. They also inflict many more casualties on the opposing army. In this battle the goths broke through my lines, routing two of my units. I had to form a 3/4 circle with my line to keep from being outflanked. They annihilated half of my army



    More testing being done. It is looking very good!!!

    A few more minor adjustments to the AI files -- tested with a suebi battle

    I purposely did not remove the interface so that everyone can see that the romans are actually throwing their javelins now and quickly run out, no more endless javelins. Also you can see that their opponents are now agressively actacking them, depleted unit totals

    The AI attacked the whole line and not just 1 particular area.







    while I am concentrating on turning back the suebi units on my right flank, the AI has sent more cav to ride behind my left flank












    milite unit outflanked and cutoff from the main line. The AI did this.











    From my observations, the Suebi faction also performed well with the new AI changes. They retreated from battle once they had lost approx 70% of their total strength. They kept pressure on the front line and at the same time managed to outflank some of my units. The romans had approx 35% casualties.

    Great to see this. I knew this mod would be like a good wine. Cudos for the javelins.
