Which Country fails the most? (now with poll...)

I made a new thread WITH a poll. Due to my incompetence last night, trying to do too many things at once, I forgot it still creates the thread even if you don't finish making the poll.

Which country fails the most?

Portugal is the only "minor nation" I put on here, for obvious reasons.

The US does not count as a major nation because it is not playable in the GC, the Road to independence is a joke, and they are not guaranteed to appear. Therefore, it is not on the list. The Mughal Empire does make the list, even though they aren't playable, they have all the advantages of the major nations and fall on the official Major Nations list.

For me it was a tough race between the Mughals and Portugal. However, I've seen the Mughals beat the Maratha Confederacy 2 times now. Portugal NEVER wins against Spain. Portugal gets my vote.

Of the ones you listed, the Mughal Empire would be the obvious choice, since they "fail" 100% of the time.

really? In IS, I've seen the Mughals and Mysore double team Maratha until the whole Indian subcontinent is green and red. In fact, It happens every time I play as Portugal. Maybe it has something to do with the AI knowing Portugal is Human.

Makes sense, b/c Spain offers an alliance every game as well. I never got o war with them.

Yeah, I was playing as the Brits and by the end of the game, Mughals had twice the prestige of its closest competitor and owned all of India. Actually, owning all of India seems pretty easy to do if you play in this region, and is way powerful. I played as Marathas and by 1730 I was owning all of India and making so much cash on the lowest tax levels that by 1799 I was multimillionaire and had 3 times the prestige of my closest opponent. All of this tea, spice, cotton right on your easily grabbed continent... Easy access to the East Indies too...

For the AI mughal to be strong though, the Marathas have to fail horribly since they are in a position to topple Mughals really easily when the game starts. They might sometimes get very lucky on a dice roll at the beginning that changes the rest of the game?

Portugal seems to disappear 100% of the time.

UP is the only one that I have seen get crushed early game by the AI (more than once).

Mughal Empire only seems to fail when I'm playing as Maratha

Portugal always seems to survive for me. This maybe because of my extensive diplomacy, gifting here there and everywhere, making alliances with certain factions which means that I can eventually dicatate all war in every continent by just breaking an alliance. I completely agree with the Mughals however, they always seem to die no matter how much I tamper.

Well i must agree with the Mughal Empire fails 100%, but anyway on the fail-o-meter after Mughal Empire i would say Great Britain in my games i never saw them expand on single time

On this subject, why do they automatically get the 13 colonies without achieving the mission the player has to achieve to get the same?

Anyway, they're stuck on their island.. I saw them take Acadia from the French once.

I would say,without any doubt, all of them fail,in one way or the other,to be honest all the whole game fail to accomplish its goals,so far.

I have also seen Mughal Empire destroying Marathas (who re-emerged few turns later) and taking almost whole India.
Portugal always gets destroyed every time, but the other nations from that list do quite well.

I've also seen this happening a few times but whitout the marathas taking back anything

I voted GB when played by AI. They never do anything except wait for the boat at Portsmouth, which never arrives btw. Best faction (not AI) Ottomans with IS mod and new non green skins.
