    Default To gloss or not...

I did some experimentations with the Gloss maps and here's the result. I've overdone a little just to see how it will look and looks pretty good the bigger drawback is that we need two more files for each skin and that will triple the size of the texture folder. Maybe we should offer it as a separate patch if we decide on doing it? Opinions?

If you want to try them (the images above doesn't tell too much) here are the Gloss files I did just unrar it into the Data/models_unit/textures/tone/macedon

Maybe we can create a separate patch, but to be honest I donīt like gloss maps in RTW engine.

What do glass maps actually do? Does it just make it shine more?

Yeah, I'm not really a big fan either on the whole - it just tends to give things a weird sort of watermarked pattern, I think.

Personally, I think the quality of the units as they are makes this unnecessary. But that's just my opinion.

As Leif and Pacco have suggested if it's going to be offered put it in as an option - the _important_stuff folder maybe?

I am sure that some players will like it. After all, variety is the spice of life.....

There is a way not to make it too glossy. Just darken the tga gloss file.
