Default How to take any province

We all know how annoying it is to come across a lush capital province, but its filled with enemy troops.

EASY! Split your stack in two and send these forces on the opposite ends of the city, and bring them just close enough to engage the enemy. The enemy should send out a small army each time - so just defeat these and take the city. Whereas a straight assault will probably not succeed.

And send worthless troops to pillage - retreating is too easy in this game!

If the enemy reacts differently - you can still retreat. But you have to figure out the movement before you commit to anything.

I wonder about pillaging, is it any worth? Since the AI doesn't really need the money...

Pillaging is so annoying! I'm playing as Russia and Sweden and Dagestan have like six armies pillaging, and since my provinces are so big I can't chase them down. And you have to finish all the small units because they retreat and start pillaging.

When you have no money like me and have to watch every penny, pillaging is so annoying and takes away units from theatres of action.

It is nice to know and use chokepoints to keep enemy armies at bay - I have a river running through and Austria can only come through in one place. Helps to keep them at bayh.
